I think Saxon had it on twitter
Don't they have a set of twins they drafted. Sudbury started the rebuild with twins named Pilons and this being the third year we have been so entertained. Hope the Jackson twins can do the same next year in a rebuild year for the Storm.
Let's see outplayed, out hustled, out scored, better prepared, out worked, out hearted, if that is a word, out goaltended, another made up word. One team came to play while other showed up expecting to win. Four points on the table!
Get the manor on the sponsor list...
Yes, in the 2017 draft, looks like they may go the US route.
Draftees? Jackson twins?
Terry/Import or 2018 pick
Nailing the import draft and first couple of rounds will be important.
This season is still the focus though. Putting in the work and getting healthy.
On twitter. Cam Hillis broke his collar bone. No surgery.
So I'm going to guess that Hillis is out the year at this point.
No write off for Gogolev and Hanley. So what do we think the final lineups should be? We need Durzi back bad, especially on the PP.
I like Schnarr on the top RW due to early chemistry with Ratcliffe and to shake things up a bit. That second line was dynamite for the short time they had before Gogolev went down. Commisso as 3rd C is for faceoffs and puck possession.
With current status, slot Stevenson in for Gogolev.
They'd better come out with a vengeance tonight.
Exactly;...what's maybe trade able of high end next year (seniors)..?..total rebuild ahead..very shallow ..offence and D..and goal..
Hillis out for season most likely.
We have a lot of big names and great players, however Durzi might be the key how far we go.
One of the ohl collectives new writers Anthony Carlucci wrote this, Has included Guelphs Pavel Gogolev on the list! Five NHL Draft-Eligible Prospects To Watch For - The OHL Collective
He is our ever important PP QB and puck carrier. He and Sammy are the anchors to the D.
great game guys..
They didnt exactly come back with a vengeance tonight nor did they convincingly win but a tidy road effort nonetheless.
Storm really had a problem getting much on net till their scoring outburst late in the 2nd. Right before Suzuki made it 2-1 Guelph only had about 12 shots on goal.
That said Sarnia didn't get a ton either as our D was much better and Poppy while not having to be great was solid.
Only goal against tonight was during a 5 on 3 and cross ice pass that no goalie was gonna stop.
Schnarr with 3 assists tonight including his 50th of the season while Hawel hits the 30 goal mark. Those two definitely improved a lot over last year.
Anyway solid road win I'm happy with it.
Dominant effort by the Storm. It is frustrating that they do not always deliver a consistent effort (eg. Friday's game against Sarnia and their last game against Erie). The injuries are bothersome too. At the end of the day, they have to win on the ice.
Any info on injuries? Time frames for return?
Durzi- 'upper body'- next weekend
Hanley- ankle- playoffs?
Hillis-collar bone- 2nd rd playoffs
Gogolev- ankle- playoffs
Fortunately most of our remaining games are against sub .500 teams
FYI, Barret Kirwin is fitting very nicely with the Attack.
His faceoff % is approaching 60, and his ppg are up.
He had a 3 pt night Saturday, and despite taking a point blast in the head, returned to finish the game.
Woolley is getting lots of ice time on the top pair defence, and Poirier has been a great aquisituon as well.
Very pleased with all of them , they seem to have adjusted to small town life.
Of course the rest of the deals will be realized in upcoming draft selections .
Do you have any basis on your guesses. I hate to see Durzi out but he seems to be one of those players and when he's out it's usually awhile. Hope I'm wrong
Larry Mellott said that Durzi could be back for Wednesday, so he could be the quickest returnee.
I haven't heard updates on the others...
Stephenson should be back for London. As far as Hillis,Gogolov and Hanley they will all be around playoffs but not before. These are significant injuries and too many things to comsider narrowing down return dates. Don’t expect any of them until playoffs and some may be later rounds.
Big game coming up on Wednesday, I hope Durzi is back.
London will come out to avenge their lacklustre weekend and make a statement. It's important that Guelph comes out firing on all cylinders. 4/6 points last weekend that could have been 6/6... here's hoping the hometown visit sparks Ratcliffe and Suzuki.
Stats after the weekend see Hawel join the 30-goal club (31), Ratcliffe with 36.
20-goal scorers who could soon reach 30 are Schnarr and Suzuki with 27 a piece, Entwistle hit 20.
Daws got his first career shutout on Sunday.
This spread out offence (and shored up D) is what has allowed the team to tread water given all of the injuries, and is what reminds me of the 2014 squad. That year also had some inconsistencies in net, before the onslaught comes I'm not slagging on Popovich just reflecting on 10th in GAA and 18th in Save % compared to peers at this moment.
he had the enigma D in front of him for half season.... now injuries.
Just read the OHL Media notes and Lockhead and Tymkin are both out for 5 games. Tymkin will still be out for the game tomorrow night.
I would gladly take that over this:
