I thought he saved that. Watching with French announcers which expressed no emotion that someone scored :D

That Stepan Wheeler line would be even better with a healthy Dubinsky on LW.

Its too bad he has a stress fracture and upcoming contract.

Now Timmy Stapler needs to goon it up and the Thrashers get a Gordie Howe hattrick.

Stupid play by Shattenkirk. Don't kick the puck like that. Let the goalie handle the harmless shot. Instead you turned it into a dangerous scoring chance and a penalty against.

IIHF refs are terribly inconsistent. We've been called multiple times for going after a puck the goalie has covered before the whistle yet France does it there, nothing, and then they call Komisarek and a French player for nothing in the middle of a group bear hug.

Let these teams plays.

Very sloppy game overall.

- Conklin didn't play well at all. He might have only faced a couple good scoring chances the entire game but he let in 2 soft, soft goals.

- Looked more like an exhibition game than a qualifying round match.

- IIHF refs are terrible. Any chance for this game to have any flow was doomed when they decided to leave the whistles in their mouths all game. 21 minor penalties? Geeze.

- Team USA's passing left a lot to be desired today. That, coupled with more over skating the puck and fanning on easy chances (see Miele's steal there towards the end and feed to Gaustad wide open in the slot where he fans) is going to hurt us big time if it continues. We don't have enough offensive talent on this squad to end so many chances on our own due to unforced issues.

If Sweden beats the Swiss tomorrow in regulation, we're guaranteed to move on to the QF round. Anything else and it's wait and see but we control our destiny regardless.
