No, this is just superstition Russians won WC without a loss in 2009 I think. Of course we can lose QF, you never know. But it won't be influenced by losing or not losing one game in this phase.

As for not losing before QF... Well, if we end up first in our group, then we should get the 'weakest' opponent from the other group - which is likely gonna be either Switzerland or Norway. Losing to them in QF would be... embarrassing

No we won't. I have this bad feeling we're getting overconfident again - after beating a bunch of 'weaker' opponents, the only exception being Finland.

Maybe now is the time to get slapped. Our team always performs better when it is in a position of being the underdog (see the last WC).
