I hope Vehänen shows a good performance, Finland needs a strong and stable goalie. Question to the Finns in this forum: does anybody know Vehänen and is he a reliable goalie who plays normally the whole game without allowing 'easy' goals for the opponent?

Well all I can say he has the best stats for the last two years in KHL and won the championship a year ago when he was totally dominant.

he's form right now? no idea.

Denmark doesn't have Nielsen and Regin, so last year's catastrophe shouldn't happen again.

Finland will win 5-1 or 6-1.

Tarasenko was very good yesterday. I expect Granlund to be even better. Few hard hits, some sweet dangles and 1+1 :yo:

first of all.... its VehAnen :) and I think he is pretty reliable, decent goalie but maybe he hasn't that game stealing ability IMO. Some easy goals can go in

For all the good goaltending Finland has, I'm kind of disappointed to see Vehanen in the starting role. I haven't seen too much of him but he doesn't strike me as a big game goalie. Where are Lehtonen, Kiprusoff and Backstrom?

They all said no. Finland has great goaltenders, but it doesn't help if no one's coming to play.

NHL goalies useally don't impress me in the WC. I'm not saying they are worse, but they sometimes strougle on the big ice surface.

I'm happy with Vehanen, but would like to see Lassila start some of the games aswell.

Rinne was our best goalie last year, despite all the hype Vehanen got. Rinne saved us from getting :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:d at the quaters, while Vehanen's best achievement was shutout vs Germany and one great save vs Russia ( other than that he sucked in that game).

Kari Lehtonen was a huge factor why Finland reached the finals in 2007.

God how I'm going to miss Mertaranta...

Lehtonen was too tired, Kiprusoff doesn't give a **** and Bäckström is injured.
