Only 1-0 for Russia after half the game is not okey. But Austria is quite good.
It is okay. They have a game in little more than than 24h and it's not against Austria. They should not waste any energy or risk injuries.

Vorobiev is still an annoyance. Why taking Kaprizov of that line? If anything Kuznetsov is sleepwalking and Ovechkin's effort is at 20%.

Russia is never good in group play. This is well known. They get better later on.

I still think Austria is quite solid, definitely better than Italy and GB, they should stay in elitě.

Gusev and Kuch are working well together. Barabanov playing well. Far too many other players are anonymous. Still sloppy with the passing at times and decision making. Excuses ? They would not have got away with this in the Soviet days.

5-0 and heading for Russian power play but gotta say Austria has played well and Starkbaum has been very solid.

Decent result but lots of things to work on. If they play like that tomorrow Czechia will probably win.

I just want to see Barabanov in the NHL one day. I'm 90% sure, he'll become a fan favorite. Just a fabulous skater with magic hands, very gritty and high IQ. If only his shot was decent at least, he'd be a player of Gusev calibre...

Far too sloppy defensively behind the net. Poor outlet passes from the defence. Not enough composure in the offensive end either and a couple of very poor giveaways as a result. They need to gel better in the lines. Plenty of time left before the real event but they need to work better collectively.

Agreed.

I agree, they lack cohesion.

Hopefully we will see new lines soon. Pairing Malkin with Kucherov would be a good start.

Lol, Gusev - Anisimov - Kucherov was the best line for us, and Grigorenko - Malkin - Dadonov weren't much worse. It's Kuznetsov's line, that didn't work, but Barabanov added some fire to them.
