Great game for sweden.
It is great to upset the major powerhouse in hockey. Not just by the score but the way they did it.
Still the same strategy as they have tried to do the last few years by keeping the puck under control and really try to get the puck out the defensive area without just giving it away.
Even when the Canada players started to throw big hits we still got the puck out under control.

Love it.

When a game goes 5-5 and has to be decided by SO, there is no one dominate team or a team that had their way. Sweden played a better team game and took care of the puck and used their speed to get to scoring areas. Canada did not do a good job of keeping them along the boards. Goaltending on both sides was weak. Canada stepped up a little bit in the 3rd period but throughout the game we failed to execute our cycle game down low consistently. Sweden won, give them credit. They played a more consistent 60 minutes but hardly had their way with us.

The Swedes dominated large parts of the game. Canada got a lot of lucky bounces and Sweden hit the post multiple times. The so called weak goals from Sweden were are all hard shots to the top corners while Canada got carems of the glass, soccer goals and an absolute glove botch job..

Meh, it still worked against the Russians and the Czechs.

Big hits can wear down a team over time.

Considering the size of Canada's players and relative lack of skill, if they played Sweden again, I'd like to see more of the same.

No point trying to outskill the Swedish team with this line-up.

Hopefully draw some retaliation penalties and then go to bat with the powerplay. It worked on A. Larsson.

A. Larsson is a smart player, a young player not used to this tempo of game. I hardly think he was slowed down becuase of the hits. I think he played ok.

Canada can keep hitting Swedes again if we meet again, sometime it will get a penalty. The important thing is that Swedes don't try to get even once hit.

I ****ing knew it, when we beat Canada the only thing the Canadians talk about are all the players they're missing and that they'd beat us easily if they were here.

:shakehead

lol. Sweden deserved to win, and they did. They're also the better team. I'm not saying that in terms of the tournament. The best team will win...

I'm just saying that this tournament should not indicate the health of Canadian hockey when you have elite players playing in the NHL.

Canada has The New Pornographers ffs. The bestest band.

But I do admit that these salty Canadian tears has really spiced up my whiskey.

No doubt; Canada has 8.5 times as many registred players than Sweden, you should honestly be the better hockey nation by a wide margin.

You are better, but not with that much, which speaks volumes about the Swedish hockey players.:)

I bet we'll meet again in this tourny, and that's gonna' be a real nail biter, haha..

Great game, so fun to watch.

I'm afraid that we'll play crap in our semi-final though, hopefully I'm wrong.

I'm a registered player.

That speaks volumes about what a registered player means in Canada relative to other countries.

I meant that we are and should always be underdogs to the greatest hockey nation in the world. In any context. I have the right to get carried away. We are doing allright with our youth program. If the word "upset" is a bit strong for you, blame it on my english.
