I didn't want to post the whole squads, but for certain teams I think we could really use them. Copying them from Wiki allows everyone to look at each player's page more easily. Not going to post game times either as they're different everywhere and there's no point.

Anyway, going with a Russia win here. Peru beat the Saudis badly the other day.

Should be a pretty straightforward win for Russia to start the tournament. Cannot wait for it all to begin

I am afraid we are going to get embarrassed.

The team looked horrible in the friendlies.

At least with the Miranchuks, Golovin, Tashaev & maybe Chalov, there's some young talent that could make you interesting if they rise to the occasion & Alan can hit his highest level...

Though I do only expect you to get out of the group ahead of egypt due to a scandalous referee'ing decision...or two...

I don't rate Russia at all, but with Salah's fitness in question, I don't believe they need refereeing shenanigans to advance. Egypt are very beatable without him.

I feel like even with Salah 100 percent healthy I would still pick Russia to go through in second in the group

"Voted" for a Saudi win, although the traditional opening game might just be a draw... Don't think Saudi is a weak team. Defeated 2-1 by Germany recently? Weak teams don't lose 2-1 to Germany, they get crushed.

It seems to me that the question isn't whether Russia will win, but whether they'll play well enough that funny things don't need to happen to the rules to see them through.

Yup, expecting a phantom penalty in favor of Russia if this thing is either tied or they're down by one, with not much time left on the clock.

probably ridiculous to ask for starting lineups . Russia is easier but there are not many teams across the world where less is known than Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia also has one of the best coaches at the tournament, even though he botched Chile's qualification. He knows how to prepare teams for the moment. But there's really no way to know what they'll do. They played well against Germany and Italy, laid down against Peru. They also drew Ukraine earlier this year.

I would assume they'll park the bus and hope for the best but who knows?

Russia will win because Putin will destroy them if they dont. Too bad Iran wasnt in this group, they would have had a chance to make KO round
