Yeah but my argument is that it's something that might hinder him in the future. Maybe separating him from being one of the best players in the Nhl to just being a star player. However if you want to find holes in Kakkos toolbox, the shot is the biggest one.

it really isn't

kakko broke u18 record in liiga in goals scored. Not even the elite shot Laine scored more

That's not what you've been saying, though. You said you're not sold on him as a goal-scorer. Which is pretty ridiculous at this point in time.

Shot can improve too, and it frequently does.

If i remember it correctly B.E.P. had a song and it went like this "Shut up, just shut up, shut up".
The song is dedicated to you Busquets :)

Yes, but it's not like there was anyone coming. Jalonen's assistant coaches are coaches from the Liiga finals so he knew who was coming and who was not. They knew very early no one was coming from NHL and KHL guys said no too.

That's not correct as many have pointed out. Especially, when there is a lack of talent, the last thing you want to do is to close the door this way

Who does Finland play vs after they finish #2 if Sweden beats Russia in regulation? In that case Rus, Swe and Cze are all at 18p and Swe>Rus, Rus>Cze and Cze>Swe.

If Sweden wins in regulation against Russia, Finland plays very likely against the Czechs because they would finish the group with very high probality as third. Russia had to lose against Sweden with at least a 4 goals margin to fall behind the Czechs and Sweden in the standings and this is very unlikely.

Also i wanna remind you, that he does have one snipe from the blueline in this tournament aswell. BUT i also agree that his shot still is his weakest point right now.

If Russia takes any points, Sweden will be third. If Sweden wins Russia in regulation by +2 or +1, they'll be third. If Sweden wins Russia 3-0 or 4-1, Russia will drop to third. If Russia scores at least two and Sweden wins by +3 or more, then the Czechs will be in the third place.

So Sweden is the most likely opponent for Finland.

CZE vs SWE 5-2 +3 goals for CZE
RUS vs CZE 3-0 +3 goals for RUS
SWE vs RUS ??? Not played

Sweden needs to beat RUS by 4 goal difference to win the group. Not sure what would happen if Sweden beat RUS by 3 goal difference.

Someone confirm if this is right?
correct + score must be 6:3 and more and CZE will be 3rd in group

Well, this could be something positive for Team Finland in the end. A wake up call. A strong unit in all honor, but if you can´t score chances or hit the freaking net when Kakko is serving you candy, then you will have nothing to get in the quarterfinals. Because all those four teams are better than Finland and Germany and we lost against Germany. So, the positive thing is that Finland can only become better after this performance, or can they hehe? I Really do hope so.

It is not so bad when you realize that the rookie is second best player on this year NHL draft.
That's actually your thought's after everyone have had a chance to compare him and hughes with their own 2 eyes at men's level? One has been clearly better and more creative.

The other nations have a much better mentality. An Ovechkin or Malkin is almost always ready to play for Russia, even if they break their legs, they would agree. A Kucherov, plays for Russia despite his great disappointment with Tampa. A Voracek plays whenever possible for the Czech Republic. The Swedes who run up with an almost complete NHL team and have top players with them. A Kopitar isn't even too bad for a B-WM. What about the Finns?

We had one bad meeting with the russians 70 years ago thats why we are avoiding them like the devil/schoolboys a pastor.

To be fair the only reason you guys lost was because Russia/Soviet had 10x the manpower and in the end only the weather saved them. A hockey game has an equal amount of players on a neutral playing field. Russia should be afraid.

To be fair, Finlands NHL-depth isnt that great just yet (it's getting better), and a lot of their key pleyers are either going through contract talks, injured or weren't allowed to go. Or am I totally wrong here?

Have you followed these events before? It's standard procedure to finalize the roster once you know there's no more help coming from North America. You don't hold roster spots open for Euro-leaguers who have already failed to make the cut once. That's not how international hockey works.

The present roster and performance shows exactly why this is the wrong thinking. Keeping a few spots open would have given a little more room to manouver in cases where key players are hurt (even with Euro leagers who failed to make the cut. Having Anttila there is just another bad joke, but that is another topic)

As a matter of fact, perhaps just sending the HPK along with a few others to beef up weak spots would have been a better idea.
