I think the former goalies will appreciate this.
One of the better challenges and quick poke check saves you’ll see on a breakaway.

After Barzal gave it away and Crosby was all alone going the other way I thought the game was over. Greiss had other plans.

    A real beauty.

I saw it on the highlights this morning and was surprised at how quick and decisive he was.

    Crosby certainly was too.

Tuned in for the last like 4-5 minutes of the game and Greiss looked like he was seeing Vezinas.

Not sure if that was a story for most of the game, or a last minute push by the Penguins, but yea he looked good.

Also that takes balls to do an sprawling poke check on a 1v1 with Sid.

I really wanted Greiss to be a starter in the NHL, I always felt like the talent was there.

That one really brought me back.

You don't see that kind of a poke-check anymore.

    Thing of beauty.

He had a nice stop on a Kessel laser beam as well - glad he won the SO.

    He deserved it.

I love seeing the skill on both ends -- Crosby in full control, executing a perfect deke; Greiss doing a ballsy hail-mary move to stop him. Great head-to-head strategic battle packed into five seconds.

Can someone add "must watch" to the thread title? Because I almost missed this, and it's just awesome.

He was a tad shaky with rebound control in the first.

Greiss needed a good game to avoid Lehner essentially becoming the de facto starter. And boy did he deliver.

This is why I made the thread. To appreciate the one on one aspect and point of the game. Cool moment for sure.

Devan Dubnyk is also very good at those kinds of poke checks...

The part I enjoyed the most was seeing Kessel's body language, 'Well, I got it to Crosby for a clear break. GG guys, let's go to the lockers.' If he had skated harder he might have been there for the rebound.

As old school as it gets. Beautiful!

On another note; I don't think Barzal could take a shot to save his own life. Drives me nuts...
