Before Toronto beat Tampa in round one of last year's playoffs, the answer was Auston Matthews.
And Marner was probably 2nd all-time. And Nylander would've been up there as well. But not ahead of Howell, and probably, after 7 seasons, not quite ahead of Skinner's career of compiling, either.

edit: And I guess Rielly would've been top-10 by then as well.

Both Scott Lachance and Michel Petit played 800+ regular season games without ever getting past the first round.

Pretty rare feat—hard to find too many more players like that, apart from the ones already mentioned above like Jokinen and Skinner.

In a 4-team, two-round playoff in the O6 league, yeah, his Rangers never made the Stanley Cup Finals (a one-game feat back then).

In the modern era (i mean, 28+ teams, 4 rounds of comp - the question is era biased, significantly) there are two greats in the weeds...

... I really don't understand the bolded.

Billy Burch?
Hall of Fame: Inducted as Player 1974

I mean, Burch's team got a bye for the first round in 24-25, meaning he got past the first round even if he ended up never playing a game (nor did his team - for those who didn't know, they went on strike).

Some of the active first round draft picks have yet to get past the first round.

Dylan Larkin (Detroit) has one first-round exit in 2016.

Sam Gagner (Edmonton) has two first-round exits. (1000+ NHL games)

Anthony Mantha (Vegas) has two first-round exits, but will probably win a series this year.

Pavel Zacha (Boston) has two first-round exits.

Adrian Kempe (LA) has three first-round exits.

Luongo was not a Jokinen.
Lu was a winner in losing situations.
Lu is a hall-of-fame talent, and it jumped off the screen nightly.
It was an insult to human intelligence (AI will rule the world) for OVER A DECADE that Vernon was a HHOFer but Luongo wasn't. When Lu went in, Vernon should have come out.
sir Vernon went in after Luongo did

I second the child of the Mexican.
He's not eligible

A somewhat recently retired player who put up pretty good numbers is Brad Boyes.

Pretty incredible considering Pettit played for about half of the NHL's teams.

Roberto Luongo was inducted into the HHOF before Mike Vernon.

We're talking about players to never win a round in the playoffs. Just how long a list do you think that is, exactly?

It begins and ends with Ville Peltonen. The greatest of all time greats

His twin brother was pretty good at hockey, too.
They had their priorities.
Kenny went back to raise his kids in Sweden.
A strong nation of a mere 5 million people is so cuz of a strong national identity.
Kenny was GREAT!

Twins born 2 years apart. Thats one hellova long delivery.

Also 5 mill people? Sweden has 10 mill.
