1935 ca – Not a great photo per se - Hockey historian and SIHR co-founder Bill Fitsell on the left. I just want to wish him a speedy recovery. He is 97 and in a Kingston hospital at the moment.
How many here can say that they saw their first NHL-game way back in 1936 !!!
He is one of the select few alive who can tell us about it first hand.

The first game he attended was a 5-2 win for Toronto against Boston on January 18, 1936.
Your first game and you get to see Eddie Shore, Tiny Thompson, Red Horner (16 PIM’s in the game), Dit Clapper, King Clancy, George Hainsworth, Cooney Weiland, Hap Day, Busher Jackson, Babe Seibert and Bill Cowley.
I could probably chop off my pinkie for that experience. o_O

Just came across this rather sad photo the other day. The two men are Charlie Conacher and Joe Primeau, standing over the casket of fellow Kid Line member Busher Jackson in 1966. Conacher would pass away just over a year later while Primeau, the oldest member of the Kid line, would live for another 23 years after this picture was taken.

Super sad news that Bill passed away today. Huge loss to the hockey history community and a man that inspired us all.

Here's a good Puckstruck column on Bill:

I wasn't sure whether to start a new thread or not, which means that I probably should have. RIP, Bill. If I ever get back on the ice again, I'm glad that you'll be looking over me.

This is a fabulous photo of two of the greatest of all time... but then I see that Penguins logo/jersey-design and it's like, "Ugh...."

That spot in front of the Astronomical Clock is always jam-packed with tourists; it's great to see it in a different time...
