Make sure you check this one out. The top team in the WHL, and 2nd best team in the country, the Saskatoon Blades play host to the Medicine Hat Tigers tonight on Sportsnet. Should be a great game between two very good teams.

No Pitlick tonight? Too bad. That could have made for a great game for Oilers fans.

    Pitlick and Bunz vs Hamilton

I see the Tigers back up is named Deven Dubyk. I had to do a double take. I thought it said Devan Dubnyk.

Ryan Olsen I would compare to a Ryan Kesler, David Backes type of player.

    Ugh... sportsnet strikes again.

Every time I watch Major Junior Hockey on Sportsnet I remember why I never finished watching the game last time. Bad play by play, terrible feed quality, mediocre camera angles... You know you fail at what you are doing when you take people who are legitimately interested in watching CHL hockey and turn them off because YOU are doing it.

I didn't expect an HD feed from Saskatoon, but I expect ya know, wide screen coverage... My HD channel shouldn't have half of my TV left to black space.

They are complete and utter garbage in comparison to TSN. What a joke.

Shinkaruk seems like the guy to watch, those stats for a guy that's still ineligible for the draft for two more seasons after this and he's doing it in the dub, top five kind of talent?

    Headed to OT.

And now Schenn with the winner on a gaffe in OT. Bizarre play.

Curtis Hamilton will be a player in the NHL, a good one at that.

Yeah, that loss last night was their first in 12.....Check the standings bud. They are running away with things out West.

I agree. I think he could one day be a Kesler-lite type of player. Very very very good defensively for a 16 year old.

His two careless penalties tonight were VERY rare.

I think he goes top 5 for sure in 2013. I started a thread on him with basically zero responses. Reminds me of Patrick Kane. Great hands, good skater. Very shifty. And smart too. A good defender already.

I believe one of those blondes shown was Lukas Sutters' GF.

    Why thank you

Would someone mind giving me their opinion on Josh Nicholls (late 2010 pick of the Leafs)? He seems to be scoring at a really good clip this season, but i would to know what people think he could be down the road?

Yeah Hamilton is going to be an excellent NHLer.

I don't think he's going to be an offensive dynamo but I see him as a Simmonds type of player. Big body with good speed. Defensively sound with some offensive upside. It's a stretch to think he'll be a player expected to contribute night-in night-out but he'll probably put up the 30-45pts. Kicker is he's going to be very far north of + player. Solid shut down 3rd liner on a good team.

I think for lots of Oiler fans he may have not displayed his offence game, but towards the end of the tournament he was counted on to put up points, unfortunately he doesn't have the elite scoring Canada needed in the dying third period. For most of the tournament his role was to keep the puck in the opposition zone (which he did effectively) with the fore check to wear down the defence and be involved on the PK.

    Nice second rounder.

I think a player like Pitlick has probably more potential but also allot riskier. Potential is a Ryan Kesler... and that maybe stretching it. Ideally both Pitlick and Hamilton will make up 2/3rds of the Oilers 3rd line.

It helps more if you watch Hamilton in his regular setting, not just during the WJHC.

In that tournament he was counted on to fill one roll....be a defensive star. And he was.

But his offensive skills did not show at all in the tournament, and believe me, he has offensive skills. The guy is a very smart offensive player with great vision and a great shot. You are selling him short to say he might be a 45 point player max.
