Griffins re-signed Dominik Shine.

Grand Rapids Griffins | Shine On

Interesting since there are already several college forwards with more potential: Lukovsevicius, Pearson, Loggins and Kuffner. Wonder which ones, if any, will start in Toledo (definitely not Kuffner).

Also hearing that Grand Rapids has signed F Josh Kestner. Was a big part of Newfoundland’s championship team last year. Good shot and fast. But looks like it’s a signing for Toledo.

Yeah him and McIlrath won't be there because of potential. They'll be there to make sure no one is taking liberties with guys like Veleno, Zadina, taking runs at Larsson, etc. If you've seen either of them fight, you don't want to get on their bad sides.

I wonder if Detroit will sign any two way contracts as they've done in the past for GR.
I think most (if not all) of the GRG players that have DRW contracts are on 2-way, like Zadina. GRG has only 11 contracts at this point and many of those prospects will play for the Walleye.

Correct, I was thinking something like: Detroit adds Megan, Terry, Chelios and Sateri

But as discussed in here and as you have alluded to, the Griffins have great depth and already have many guys on a DRW 2-way contract (Terry, Elson, McIlrath, etc).

DRW may add more Griffin players before or after training camp. They have 44 contracts at the moment and usually save 2 for during the season, which leaves 4 more contracts possibly for GRG but also could be for prospects in Junior or overseas.

Damn, he was a good player for us. What's Megan's status, is he still signed?

Bit of a log jam on both forward and defense, especially if one or two of Zadina, Rasmussen, Cholowski (possibly Ehn & Hirose as well) start in GR.

I see kids (Rasmussen, Veleno, Zadina) going down and guys like Hicketts, Turgeon, Ehn and Hirose being up.

Bertuzzi - Larkin - Nielsen
Akader - Filppula - Mantha
Helm - Athanasiou - Hirose
Ehn - Glendening - De la Rose
(Turgeon)

Ericsson - Green
DeKeyser - Bowey
Daley - Hronek
Hicketts - Nemeth

Howard
Bernier

AHL
Rasmussen - Veleno - Zadina
Cholowski - Kaski

That will be phenomenal unit to see at Griffins.

I'd rather have him with wings, more he should be first line winger with Larkin and Mantha
I’d rather take a more patient approach with him. Have him produce against men and play a top 6 role without possibly being in over his head in the nhl and even thrown on the 4th line. Not saying he wasn’t good with the wings last season, I just want him trending in the right direction and producing.
