I read the Athletic article on Svechnikov's slow start but I'm curious if anyone else has any insight to his performance?

So far, it has been not pretty to watch him play so far this season. Not quite into game shape. Not skating well and starting to take stupid penalties. Hoping he will be himself this coming weekend.

Griffins as a whole, are not playing well at all lately. Lineup changes, injuries, way too many penalties, not scoring on the power play, and bad breaks are happening to this team lately. Lorito should be back in the lineup tomorrow night. Hronek is skating well and sticking up for himself after stoppages of play so far. Shot is a bit off at the point, but hopefully he will find the net soon. Might see Saarijavi in action either on Friday (home Chicago) or Saturday night (in Rockford). Russo is not looking good on the ice so far this season.

IMO Svech has "spells" when he gets frustrated and takes penalties but can go many games w/o a penalty. He definitely has cut the number down from when he started. I don't like the penalties in the O zone. It's sort of a default when his system gets locked up

So after Svechnikov and Bertuzzi the Wings basically have zero forwards in the pipeline...great. :help:

Turgeon will get looks this year. Holmstrom is another possibility. I still really like Givani Smith. Then of course there's Rasmussen who's a year away from the AHL.

Gallant and zablocki are promising. Some people are high on Pearson too

I'm a big fan of both Gallant and Pearson... but as far as *skilled* forward prospects are concerned, we are definitely lacking.

There's this Rasmussen kid, don't know if you've heard of him.

But this is what happens when you draft 10+ d-men over 2-3 drafts. Something's gotta give.

Nice walk and shot by Hronek.

His feet are really quick, but he's still very slight.

Turgeon has 9 points in 10 games, he had 18 in 71 last season.

Guy seems to really be taking his opportunity and running with it. If he has a big season in GR, he has to be in line to get a long look at a bottom6 spot next year. Holmstrom has been pretty productive for a rookie on small ice, too.
