Tangradi, Street, Ford (GR contract & the C), Puempel, and Lorito (I think) in post-season interviews all expressed they would like to return (said the right things) but didn't know what the future would hold. We only have Holmstrom & Turgeon for centers under contract. My guess is that Street, Ford, & Tangredi are re-signed and go outside for center help but nothing in the news for sure. As for the D, if DRW sign Sambrook and 1 of Cholo. Hronek, or Hicketts makes the big club, someone might be traded. The GRG usually go into the season with 8 D, so a player might be traded if Renouf is re-upped.@GrGriffins, unlike the Griffins blueline, it looks like there could be a lot of turnover at forward. Looks like Smith, Ehn and apparently Pope will be on the team next season, while Tangradi, Street, Elson and Lorito are UFA's, Puempel is eligible for Group VI UFA status and maybe Nastasiuk doesn't get qualified. Of those six guys who are or could become free agents, any indicators so far on if any of them are locks to return or move on?
Anyone who has information about Ben Street looking to get over to Europe to play? GM for Linköpings Hockey Club (Sweden) are looking for 2 players and rumour says that Street is one of them.
Holland going to draft centers , they can get 1 or 2 for sureWho's going to be first line center then? Turgeon? There's a chance he makes it to the NHL. If Turgeon makes the big club the Griffins are screwed.
Usually guys from the draft can't go straight into the AHL.Holland going to draft centers , they can get 1 or 2 for sure

Played a year at Michigan.
I'd imagine they sign a #1 center for Grand Rapids. Don't know who, but they will find a way to give the offense a cornerstone.

It is official that Ben Simon was named the 11th Grand Rapids Griffins head coach.
Mike Knuble has been retained by the Griffins. Bruce Ramsay will not be back as assistant coach.

The 29-year-old Camper, posted a career-high 61 points (16-45-61) and 14 penalty minutes in 68 games between Tucson and the Cleveland Monsters last season.
The Tucson Roadrunners are the AHL affiliate of the Arizona Coyotes who, in what was not announced as a related deal, acquired defenseman Robbie Russo from the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday. Russo has skated almost exclusively for the Griffins the past three seasons.
There were no additional details on the Camper trade, according to the Griffins.
Camper was traded from Cleveland to Tucson on Feb. 26 but still finished as the Monsters' leader in both points (42) and assists (29) in 53 games.
The 5-foot-9, 176-pound forward had 19 points (3-16019), a plus-six rating and four PIM in 15 regular season games with the Roadrunners.
He tied for the team lead in Calder Cup Playoff scoring with eight points (1-7-8) in nine appearances, which included a team-best seven assists.
Leaguewide, Camper tied for 11th in point production and tied for fifth in assists during the regular season.
An eight-year pro, Camper has traveled around. He has 330 points (87-243-330) and 114 PIM in 443 AHL games with Providence (2010-14), Springfield (2013-14), Binghamton (2014-15), Hershey (2015-16), Albany (2016-17), Cleveland (2017-18) and Tucson (2017-18).

Camper made his NHL debut with the Boston Bruins during the 2011-12 season with one goal in three games.
A native of Rocky River, Ohio, Camper played four seasons (2007-11) at Miami University before turning pro.

Center Matthew Ford, who served as the Grand Rapids Griffins captain last season, will be back after re-signing a two-year contract with the team.
The Griffins announced the deal late Tuesday morning.
The 33-year-old Ford had 38 points (22-16-38) and 42 penalty minutes in 72 regular season games and five points (2-3-5) in five Calder Cup Playoff appearances.
He placed fourth on the team in goals and ranked sixth in points. Ford's career-high-tying 12 power play goals tied for fifth in the AHL and seventh on the franchise's single-season list.
"I'm obviously excited to stay here in Grand Rapids," Ford said after the announcement. "A place my family has come to call home.
"The last couple years with the Griffins have been some of the most enjoyable and proudest moments of my career. It was a no brainer that I wanted to stick with this group of guys and this winning culture that this organization has developed with the Red Wings."
Ford's signing comes a day after the Griffins acquired center Carter Camper from Tucson.
In two seasons with the Griffins, the 6-foot-1, 210-pound Ford has 73 points (36-37-73) and 70 PIM in 123 regular season contests. He's skated in 24 postseason games in Grand Rapids with 17 points (10-7-17) and helping the Griffins win the franchise's second Calder Cup in 2017.
Originally drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the eighth round, 256th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Ford has accumulated 379 points (185-194-379) and 429 PIM in 603 career AHL contests between Hartford (2008-09), Lake Erie (2008-11), Hershey (2011-12), Adirondack (2011-13), Springfield (2012-13), Oklahoma City (2013-15), Bakersfield (2015-16) and Grand Rapids.
He showed career highs in both goals (29) and points (59) in 2011-12, while splitting the campaign between Hershey and Adirondack. Ford posts 30 points (15-15--30) and 58 PIM in 45 career Calder Cup Playoff games.
A native of West Hills, Calif., Ford played college hockey at the University of Wisconsin (WCHA) from 2004-08.
