His inability to step up when the games get physical.

He's played in 3 career playoff games. He was pretty good down the stretch run for Boston last season when the games were more physical.

There is literally zero to go off of. Joke of a comment to say that Donato won't be able to score 9+ playoff goals in his career.

I'm not a huge donato fan but the takes in here smell.

I gave it a B because I liked the idea but didn't know how it would play out- Coyle I felt was somewhat of a underperformer for the Wild and I did not know a lot about Johansson's game of late given that he had been injured so much. Turns out an A grade is warranted. Coyle is consistently better for us than I ever saw him play in a Wild uniform and a Mojo has some magic to him. Just what the team needed to be where they are.

Summed up my thoughts perfectly.

Coyle is slotted exactly where he should be, and has excelled as a result. The goals weren't really there for him in a Bruins sweater post trade in the regular season, but he was consistently one of the better players on the ice.

Johansson obviously got injured for a bulk of the regular season post trade, but he's been phenomenal.

A nice D for Donnie, he only gets that because he got rid of Donato and Coyle is an upgrade. He didn't solve the second line RW issue, he has a ton of cap space that was oh so important that he had to move McQuaid for nothing in the off season and he still has all that space. I'm sure JJ is happy about that.

Cehlarik and a 3rd would have gotten them Simmonds IMO and he added to what the bungling moron did would have helped. We still have a cadre of "prospects" who are pretty useless, while JFK would have been my top choice for a give away and try to recoop some picks after watching how dismal his time in Boston was there are others who could have gone for some depth that would have helped in the playoffs.

Long term a top end player was not acquired because Sweeney once again valued his prospects too highly or maybe other teams realize that these wunderkids of Sweeney's aren't nearly as good as he thinks they are and some of the posters also think they are.

Sweeney reminds me more and more of the guy who collects worthless memorabilia waiting to sell it for just the right price, when somebody offers him a good price he thinks "it must be worth more than I am asking" and doesn't sell instead holding onto worthless junk (JFK) that could be turned into something useful.

A Terrible GM once again got played at the deadline, hopefully this will be his last one in Boston, but sadly he is saving JJ money so he is doing the job that really matters.

“Sorry your spreadsheets say Mojo is a better player than Simmonds.”

On what metric is Simmonds better than Johansson @Fenian24 ? The guy has been a shell of himself for a while now.

I didnt vote... and going on the basis of rereading I admitted these werent the 2 guys I was calling for

but like most moves the bruins make I said I trust it will work out... I supported the moves... I never once said im crying any tears over donato

in the playoff hero thread I predicted coyle and said we would all be asking to extend him to a new contract before the playoffs were over

I dont mind patting myself on the back even though I wasnt screaming for these guys. I did hope for the best and I had a feeling that a career under achiever like coyle might respons to a fresh start

thats pretty consistent with how I always behave... I like giving underachiever and hometown boys a second chance... it doesnt always work but im almost always in favor of it

ironically I traded for coyle in my fantasy sim team before he became a bruin... and then I traded him away lol... I build my sim team like I want the real bruins so its a bit ironic I had him and let him go
