Gostisbehere is underrated by Flyers fandom. There are a loud few on this forum who acknowledge Gostisbehere’s value, but they don’t outnumber those on here who think of him as a specialist.
The Flyers are not in a position to trade elite NHL talent so they can gamble with picks. This is not a rebuilding team

I think it’s best to prepare for negative feedback whenever you’re testing out a trade proposal on an unfamiliar board.
Nurse is probably never going to come close to being as good as Gostisbehere. That 1st has to be a sure star for me to consider trading the Flyers defenseman.

I guess you’re targeting me. I was just speaking hypothetically. If Ghost were traded.....this is what I wouldn’t mind getting back and here’s why, type post. I don’t envision Ghost getting traded but who knows what the new front office has in mind.

Ghost is really underrated, he's an elite offensive player, terrific in transition and on the PP, very good in the neutral zone, and better than credited for defensively. He's going to shatter the franchise's all-time records for defensemen. He's also on an amazing contract and his stock will probably go up once we find a competent coach.
Conservatively he's a top 100 player in the league, so if you're not including one of your best 3 players in the deal to start with, we can't even talk.

He was fantastic as a rookie & much of last season. Horrific last playoffs & way way below expectations for most of this season. An absolute turnover machine, & a below 40 point pace. Love his talent, but deserves much more criticism for his season so far.

Darnell Nurse isn’t worthy of sniffing Ghost’s jock. Nurse is just a physically toolsy, mediocre player who is overrated on said tools. He puts up meh stats and does nothing worth drooling over. Ghost has special talents. The thought of any Flyers fan wanting to trade them 1 for 1 makes me ill. Trade Konecny for f***ing Virtanen while we are at it.

I don't mind trading Ghost (just because I have that much faith in Provorov and Sanheim), but it's gotta be for the right stuff. Nurse isn't the right stuff.
The Ghost hype in this thread is absolutely insane.
The guy is a high-wire act who will forever imperil the stability of this team's backline. I love watching him, but if winning games is your thing, the sooner he goes the better imo.

Ghost is a very special player with pretty unique skillset.
Saying that I'm at the same time worried that he won't age very well. He has already gone through major knee and hip conditions and his mobility has suffered and probably will only get worse.
His current contract is a real discounted deal which makes him even more valuable but I'd think long and hard about signing him to an extension that takes him above the age of 30. Rather keep him for the next 3.5 seasons and then sell him to the highest bidder.

Flyers probably have their own version of Nurse finally coming up soon in Morin.
I don’t believe players are untouchable but I don’t see ghost being moved unless Sanheim and or Myers ever put it together consistently.
The one skill that ghost has that people over look is his ability to get the puck to the net. There are players that are bigger and faster with just as good of a shot but can’t get it past the sticks and shin pads.
If the JETS are not able to re sign Brandon Tanev i would really like the Flyers to take a stab at him , his contract is up at the end of the year . He's the fricken energizer bunny .

Ghost has had a bad year but so has about the whole roster outside from the lucky players playing with giroux and couts. I hope Fletcher doesn't devalue some players because of the way they have been playing this season under Hak. Ghost is on a great contract, is young and has a ton of talent that is not common in the NHL. He is just undersized which you can see in the defensive zone when he gets stuck back there which is why they need to keep him away from Provy especially in the playoffs. A 2nd pairing elite offensive talent on a great contract. You don't trade that away.
I’m only moving Ghost if a #1 center or #1 defenseman is coming back. Flyers would have to add but Ghost is a very good player on a great contract. I don’t believe we can afford to move him just because of Provorov and Sanheim.
