To say that Gormley could be a late bloomer is pure rubish.

Late bloomers don't accel amongst peers, get drafted in the first round and then have some strange regression.... only to one day bloom again.

Late bloomers hang in there..... IF they're lucky and blossom as they catch up to their peers.

Buffalo doesn't need D prospects let alone D prospects a team like Arizona is desperate to get rid of.

There are three players, none of whom is going to be waiver eligible if I remember correctly, vying for one spot. It's just common sense, guy. And you could pick a lot worse teams to grab a defensive player from. Like Buffalo!

It is an upgrade in talent, and an organization can never have too many good young players in the system.

Not to mention that he's a center - which the Coyotes are short on depth with - and a 1st round pick of Regier's. If Sabres deal Grigorenko, I can see Arizona being interested for those reasons. What they'd give up is open for debate.

I hadn't heard that about Gagner. But I think the character issues are really under the microscope now after Bryzgalov and Ribeiro.

That didn't stop Maloney from trading for Comrie or Gagner, two other players with the same reputation...

Gagner didn't have a bad reputation. He was noted for competing and caring on a team that didn't deserve such a player. It showed this year with the Coyotes.

Gagner's reputation is that he's a really solid character. Works hard. Well liked. He's just not very good defensively and is physically below average strength and power for the NHL.

No way buffalo does this IMO. Besides that they are stacked in d prospects, gormley has slid pretty hard down the prospects rankings IMO. Grig kinda looked like he fell but then had a good year in the ahl this season. I'd wait to let grig pan out on one of buffaloes 4 sexy centres wings, and then trade him for more.

It blows my mind that Buffalo could be going into next season with rookies for their top 3 centres, with all three being ready to succeed in those roles.

And the Coyotes will have none.

True. It's possible that Strome (if picked), Dauphin and Dvorak could be ready for the 16-17 season but none would be ready for a #1 role.

If we can get lucky with Hanzal's back, then Hanzal plays 20min, Dvorak plays 17min and Strome gets to play 3rd line minutes 13min and Vitale gets his 10.
