I loved Goon. You guys that only watched for 30 minutes didn't give it a chance. The best part is the last hour.

It's been rotating on TMN (the movie network ) and I've caught it a few times. I laugh more, each time I watch it.

It's a very funny hockey movie, that has a distinctly Canadian edge to it.

I recommend it.

Yep, it got good the second Doug got to Halifax. The first 25 mins is just setting up for his getting "promoted to the minors".

This, Goon is a very entertaining movie.

While being quite funny, as I mentioned previously......it's also quite poignant as well.

The movie does a great job of storytelling about a guy who will bleed for both his team and his girlfriend, and how he loves both unconditionally.

Some excellent classic Canadian music in the soundtrack, as well as, some obscure stuff by bands like Montreal's "Valleys".

Eh, to each their own.

If we're making a list of great Hockey movies though, Miracle needs to be near (or at) the top. Over-the-top Americana to be sure (typical Disney), but the hockey scenes are without peer (for a movie) and Kurt Russel is exellent.

Miracle is fantastic, especially for those of us old enough to remember the actual event.

I didn't find the Americana to be too bad.

The Goon is one of the stupidest movies I've ever sat through multiple times, and will again, with a great sense of enjoyment.

Meh I think wayne`s world did more for the sport than any other movie.

Anyhow sports movies typically suck. Most writers fail to grasp that you can`t have a game be the climax of a full movie.

Jerry macguier, and a the trouble with the curve ball, were both movies that get it.

The nhl should really be pushing for an nhl movie. Something with Jaymohr would be great.

I loved Goon. Wasn't meant to be taken seriously. It's a cute little movie with heart. I am surprised how many hockey fans didn't like it, since it got 82 percent on rotten tomatoes.com and most of my friends who saw it, loved it. I think it's a fantastic hockey movie and I am picky. I am a film student who's favourite movies include the ShawShank Redemption, City of God, the Fastest Indian, Taxi Driver, Gangs of New York (loved Daniel Day Lewis' portrayal of the Butcher), 50/50, the Look Out, Black Swan, 127 Hours, the Godfather, Good Fellas, Whale Rider, and Green Street Hooligans, just to name a dozen. Sorry, kind of went into tangent mode.

Actually found some lines I like.

Ronnie Hortense: Good skills. Too bad those are your own guys you just ****ed up.
Doug Glatt: Oh sorry.
Ronnie Hortense: On the bright side. Those were your own guys you just ****ed up.

Ross Rhea: You have my respect, whatever that means to you, you got it. But know this **** hard, if ever there comes a time, it's gets down to the morrow and it's you and me, Kid, I will lay you the **** out.

Doug Glatt: Eva, that's a pretty name. Like your face. Your face is pretty.

Doug Glatt: Why are you crying? Did you just watch Rudy?

Doug Glatt: I think that we both have a light in our stomachs. A special light...Like E.T. And the team needs someone to light the way. My stomach light needs your stomach light. We can all phone home together.

Apparently the Doug Glatt character was based on this guy...

Jay & Elisha on PMK.

Near the later seasons Jay left and it was Elisha and some Tyler kid, they also had another girl who did special reports, her name was "Vanessa" (see below)

first time i saw it i was pretty disappointed. Second time it was much better.

I find Stiffler pretty endearing in it.
