they should just end gold cup. let the north american teams play in copa america instead.

Why would South America want to invite these trash teams and ruin their half decent tournament?

(Channeling my inner pouchkine)

US/Mexico if they bring their A teams cause they are at least competitive and bring money...but outside of good cycles from CR/Hondo (which definitely isn’t now)it would be a blood bath.

Bolivia and Venezuela are not very good either. Also 12 teams doesn't work at all with 8/12 going through the group stage is a joke.

16 teams would be the perfect scenario, Concacaf have 6 "decent" teams that could help make it 16 teams and a perfect format with 8/16 going through like the best Euros were.

You also get the huge North American TV Coverage and no more stupid Qatar-Japan stuff. Also every 4 years with everyone having their A team in that scenario.

and maybe Canada? Since Canada last made the World Cup, Costa Rica made the last 16 and lost in the QF on penalties at the World Cup.
You think Panama couldn't play with almost all Copa America teams?

Canada is taking step forwards in terms of individual talent, that is evident. The overall team though is still not ready for COPA competition. Let's focus on this team getting out of the group of the Gold Cup.

David puts Canada up in under 3 mins.

Stadium is 3/4 empty again only to be full when Mexico plays later on.

There's about 400 people in a 74 000 stadium

Canada is playing really well though, I think we have a shot vs. Costa Rica.

David posted a hat trick for Canada as well. 9 goals in 7 appearances now. 5 assists too. f***ing crazy.

Yeah he and Davies are really good; they're legitimate top prospects not just 'good for Canadians'.
Cavallini is a real good player too. He could play in any league in the world.

Arfield as well. He could go back to the Premier League tomorrow and not look out of place.

Wow. What a top class free kick! Martinique draws level with Mexico at 1 goal apiece.

The Cavallini thing might be a bit of a stretch, but Arfield definitely can play in the PL and not look terrible.
