Going into the trade deadline, how many pieces are we from being a contender?

we are probably closer to another rebuild than to being a contender. if you look at boston, anaheim or chicago, we lack severe depth in any part except goalie maybe.

Our 3rd-4th liners need to be warriors, not junk like Condra/Greening (Neil most of the time). There is no extra gear from them and that is why we have sucked a lot.

Well, our top 6 looks a lot better. I am okay with having one of Greening/Condra going forward even if they don't improve. We still need at least a third line forward and a top 2 dman in my opinion though

This. People saying we need 7-8 new guys are nuts. We have good players, but too many of them are just playing one step above where they should be. If we had one other premier winger and one dman who can excell with karlsson than everybody else would be pushed down into their rightful spot.
