I've been told to pick, so the Red Wings select: Andrei Kostsitsyn from the Hamilton Bulldogs. With Malkin and Kostsitsyn on my first line, I've got a pretty good first line.

I really wanted this kid on my team, tremendous player. I wanted either Fehr or Perry in that order.
FUK as well :madfire: I was hoping he was going to slip back down to me. He was currently at the tops of the pick list for me

The Habs are proud to select a third member of the historic 2005 Canadian World Junior Team to join 1st round selection centre Jeff Carter and 2nd round pick winger Anthony Stewart in Montreal:

BRENT SEABROOK, D, Lethbridge Hurricanes, WHL

Again, Habs management is going off the "board" when higher-rated prospects were still available; heck Seabook isn't even listed among HF's top-50 prospects. And yes, still the Habs have have no NHL experience among their top picks so far. However the recent run on high-end offensively-gifted forwards (Perry, Kostitsyn, Fehr) led Habs management to turn towards the blueline. The Habs feel that Seabrook will be the rock of the Montreal defence for years to come, and like Carter and Stewart, would probably have seen NHL-minutes in 2004-05 if it hadn't been for the lockout.

The Canadiens do not pick for a long time now and will be interested to see in which direction the draft goes from here on out. Happy draftin' y'all!

Wow, the hits keep on coming. I would have to agree. He had a standout season his year and really kicked it up a notch. He was my first choice on defense.

Ok fighter(anaheim) pick has expired.

Oilers select:

Fedor Tjutin-D

And extremely skilled defensemen who will be the anchor of our team for years and years to come. He has the size to play at 6'3" 200 lbs.

He was listed as the steal of the 01 draft picked in the second round. The Russian blueliner has it all in terms of tools: good speed and mobility with the skates, a nice first pass, the ability to carry the puck up the ice and do something with it, and enough jam to get the job done in his own end.

We are extremely happy to pick him up this late in the draft.
