I have had something happened to me that ive never experienced in GM mode before.
It has happened twice, though this second time its even more extreme.

So I have just won the cup for the second time in 3 years.
My second line LW is 26 years old, medium Elite potential, scored 87 points last season and is 91 overall. After the preseason, he dropped from 91 to 84 overall. Was listed as a 1st liner, now is a 3rd liner.
My second line center is 24 years old, medium Top 6 potential, scored 62 points last season and is 88 overall. After the preseason, he dropped from 88 to 80 overall. Was listed as a 2nd liner, now he is "Depth"
My second line RW is 32 years old, exact Top 6 potential, scored 77 points last season and is 90 overall. After the preseason, he dropped from 90 to 84 overall. Was listed as a 1st liner, now is a 3rd liner.

in 1 day, between the end of preseason and before the start of the first regular season game my team got completely decimated. Every other player dropped atleast 2 points aswell.

How. Does. This. Happen??? Its unreal. The only noticeable thing that changed was that my team chemistry went fro 74 overall to 66 overall, inbetween preseason and regular season. That is what made my whole team fall apart completely? And as far as im aware there is no explanation to why this happens. Ive looked through every player, noone has a problem with another player on the team. Coach chemistry is 78%.
It just makes NO sense to me. Can I fix this? Is the game just completely broken??

TLDR; Many of my players dropped 6-8 in overall for no appearant reason.

Two of my prospects in NHL 19' were just erased from the game at the beginning of the season... It would have been my 5 years as a GM (3 as Nashville Predators and 1 as Buffalo Sabres), Superstar level, I play one game and simulate the others etc (in playoffs too). Won the Cup in my last year with the Preds and I was pretty happy with my team in Buffalo since I got a fair amount of youngs talents but meh...

I've never had it to this extent, but sometimes my team's morale just resets to even during free agency, or once I move one player, everyone's morale plummets. Also, if you've changed coaches that sometimes affects it. I've had 87-88 players drop to 83-84, but never more than that.

I don’t think you can just pick a new team. Whenever your contract expires you will get new contract offers from different teams.

At least 2 of your top 9 forward lines have to have +3 chemistry or the overalls don't matter.

Also, I always hire Pinch+Shoot coaches so I can easily get +5 chemistry for the defense by only having OFD+DFD, which leads to multiple 60 win President's Trophy seasons.

is that new in 21? I still just play 20 and while chemistry is important there, it doesn't seem to be as big of a deal breaker for performance.

Yup! I'm trying to see how badly I can rob teams with players who have stats they'd never have if I was simulating. Luke Glendening being ~PPG should get me something absurd in return.
