Just curious how is this being decided? For example Friedman today reported that Malkin would only waive for a handful of teams including Florida and New York. Are the agents just making their own call or is there some realistic aspect to it as well?

It was decided that they will only waive for contending teams, and there will be some leniency on this. Friedman is also only speculating, Maybe with the Florida speculation from Friedman you guys can be included on Malkins list.

Approved. It is sad to see our Star player leave, but this deal will enhance our top 6 and top 4 for the next decade and a half. We will likely keep Malkin for the rebuild unless we get an established top 6 centre and young pieces

I am quite high on Byram and think he will be a #1 dman in the league. I also think Jost and Lavoie have top line potential, as well as Timmins having 2nd pairing floor and could be a solid #3.
