READ THE RULES.

And make sure you have your ROSTER & CAP INFO posted in the roster thread!

Commissioners

Game Layout

Please don't reply to this thread we want to keep this one clean. Roster and Game threads will follow.
To request a team send a DM to @OB5, include a few teams in case the team you want is taken.
This will be a mock 19-20 NHL season with current NHL rosters.
Game will start on July 1 with all UFAs being available. Seattle will be able to sign UFAs.
We will be conducting a Seattle Expansion Draft during the 2019 off-season.
Regarding the 2019 draft, it has already happened. We are likely using this mock draft as the 2019 draft. Drafting Thread: Joinable 4 Round Mock Draft
This is YOUR game, have fun with your teams.

The game will flow as follows:

1. Trading period to get compliant with expansion
2. Expansion draft
3. Beginning of season, trading open until deadline.
4. Voting/playoffs/lottery
5. 2020 NHL Draft
6. 2020 Free Agency
  • Expansion Draft: Trading prior to expansion draft will go until Friday May 3rd at 12 PM ET.
Expansion draft will occur then. After that we will open to up to free agency.
  • Free Agency: Offers open 12 PM May 3.
Expansion Draft

Each GM should know who is exempt and isn't from their team. So basically if a player has 3 NHL/AHL seasons over 10 games then they are not exempt if they have less than that then they are. The rules were 2 seasons or less so a player like Girard for example had seasons of 6, 73, 82 so exempt. A player like Meier though had 67, 81, 78 so not exempt. A general rule of thumb that isn't applicable to all but most is that if a player has 2 more seasons on their ELC they should be exempt. That's not accurate for all though because not everyone signs three year ELCs.

In your roster threads please post your protected lists of either 8 skaters or 7 forwards 3 defenseman and a goalie, as well as the players you are leaving unprotected.

Salary Cap

  • CAPFRIENDLY IS RECOMMENDED FOR ALL CAP INFO.
  • The salary cap maximum for the 2019-2020 season is $83M.
  • The salary cap minimum for the 2019-2020 season is $62M
  • Teams may exceed the cap maximum by 10% during the offseason.
  • Teams must comply with the salary cap during the season and by the end of the game.
  • Teams must have a roster of 23 players by the end of the game.

Waivers/Buyouts

  • Post in this thread if you’d like to place a player on waivers.
  • Burying a player in the minors or Europe only eliminates a maximum of $$1.025 of their cap hit. Use the Buyout Calculator.
  • A player will be on waivers for 24 hours.
  • Waiver priority will be based on the final NHL standings of the 2018/19 season.
  • If a team claims a player off of waivers, they then have the lowest waiver priority.
  • Teams are permitted to use a maximum of TWO ordinary buyouts.

Trades

  • All trades must be sent to @OB5 and @SJSharks39 or else they are not valid, just so we can keep track of them easily.
  • Trade submissions must include the teams involved, the first and last names of players involved, as well as, the year and original owner of draft picks changing hands, as applicable.
  • Once a trade is agreed upon, send it in BEFORE POSTING, and then you can announce it in the thread. A deal without a NTC or NMC does not have to be approved.
  • The commissioners hold the power to veto any moves we deem to be ridiculous but we aren’t taking this rule too seriously.
  • A trade involving a NTC or NMC must be sent in by BOTH GMs with a reasoning for the player(s) to waive. A proactive approach for clause waives is encouraged - if you're not sure if a player will waive for a specific team - ASK! You can likely expect a response within a day, if not sooner.
  • The commissioners will provide a 5 to 8-team no-trade list for players with an unspecified "limited NTC" upon request.
  • If a team does not have enough cap space to complete a trade that has been sent in, the trade will be vetoed.
  • If a player waives his NTC or NMC, the NTC or NMC will still be valid with their new team.
  • Players retain no-trade protection after being traded unless the clause was not already active at the time of the trade.
  • The trade will not be valid until you have updated your initial roster post. We are taking the roster updating seriously.

Free Agent Offers

  • All free agent offers must be submitted to agents in the following format: Player Name - # years, $#,###,###/year, Clause (i.e. Evander Kane - 7 years, $7,000,000/year, LNTC), or else they will not be valid.
    • This is to be fair to those who volunteer their time as agents. It is otherwise an incredibly tedious task to keep track of player offers and post them in the FA thread.
  • All RFAs will be tendered a contract unless specified by their GM.
  • Offer Sheet Calculator
  • Teams are only permitted to use their own original selections as compensation for offer sheets.

Just an example but the Flyers would be forced to spend around 9 million in cap space on Cam Talbot, Brian Elliott, Michal Neuvirth and Carter Hart

Ok we will be starting in fictional July 1 with all UFAs hitting the market!

If you owned a player you can offer him 8 years.

We need agents so please volunteer!
