Drew. Doughty. Remember when RD was Toronto's one weakness? Not anymore. A Cup-winning former Norris #1D was worth the price, even if I feel Nylander will bounce back.

This move actually gives us MORE cap space this year, and doesn't cripple us next (Willie+zaitsev cap hits are about equal to DD's new 11m contract), so still shopping for an offensive rental or two. May also look at a better 2G

Approved. If we held out we could have gotten more, but we see Sandin as having top pairing potential, he is having a great d+1 season in the AHL. We also see Nylander as a 1st line RW for years on a contract that will prove to be a steal. We took back Zaitsev as 5 more years isn't the end of the world and he can play hard minutes while we rebuild. We also don't care if he gets torn apart by the media because if he runs to the KHL the contract is off the books. We also have another deal that will be announced shortly that get us what we've wanted to do in games past. More to come.

Approved. With Quick's declining health we wanted a goalie with potential to be as good. We also wanted Nylander so we could have the next great Swedish brothers. Sure they aren't twins, but they are both very good and look like twins, close enough for us.
