Sign center Eric Belanger for 1 year worth $1.4M. He also gets a NTC.

Detroit has about $500k in cap space to sign a winger.

That's what I do every game, no one seemed to have a problem.

Hah, never noticed. I have been trying to work my roster so I have 21+1 million in cap space, maybe I should go the IR4 route. Damn Detroit, always a few steps ahead of us.

Dallas is ecstatic Jere could continue his career in the NHL. He didn't slot into our future plans and we would of liked to see him retire gracefully, but to be making 2 million dollars at his age and talent level, it's a nice retirement present.

Kovalchuk has narrowed his selection to two options

Both teams are offering 14 year deals with an considerable difference in cap hit. Kovy will need some time to make the decision, but I would say the two offers are dead even (assuming one of the team's will up their offer to a pre-discussed amount).

The Washington Capitals are officially putting Alex Semin on the trading block...We are looking for 2 or 3 roster players in return. This doesn't mean we are going to trade him, it just means we are considering it. It can't have to much salary coming my way.

Phoenix :coyotes Coyotes are looking at one more move before calling it an off-season and heading to camp for the 2010-11 season. If the puck was top drop today, we'd look like this:
LEFT WING | CENTER | RIGHT WING
Scottie Upshall|Matthew Lombardi|Shane Doan
Lee Stempniak|Matt Stajan|Andrew Brunnette
Mikael Samuelsson|Martin Hanzal|Radim Vrbata
Petr Prucha|Vern Fiddler|Dan Winnick
Lauri Korpikoski|Glen Metroplit

LEFT DEFENSE | RIGHT DEFENSE
Ed Jovanovski|Zbynek Michalek
Adrian Aucoin|Keith Yandle
Jim Vandermeer|Kurt Sauer
Sami Lepisto

GOALIES
Ilya Bryzgalov
Jason LaBarbera

With Scottie Upshall returning healthy, and getting Brunnette and Metroplit for a full season we expect our scoring will be much improved. And we added Mikael Samuelsson, Lee Stempniak and Matt Stajan to further improve our power play and bolster our two-way forwards play. All are great on the PK as well while Stajan is a top face-off man.

Adding that veteran presence gives us the opportunity to let Kyle Turris, Mikkel Boedker, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Viktor Tikhonov, Maxim Goncharov, and Colton Teubert continue to log plenty of ice time in San Antonio. All are expected to see some time up with the big club, but not having to rush them will benefit them and our team in the long run.

On defense, we return our solid core and the aforementioned Ekman-Larsson, Goncharov and Teubert will certainly get a look. Last season our defense led the NHL in scoring, while also recording top-10 defensive statistics. We saw no reason to tinker with success and chemistry our blueliners developed, especially with three blue-chip prospects waiting in the wings. Add to that Kurt Sauer returning after missing all but one game last season, which tightens up our D in our own end even more.

In 2009-10 we made the Western Conference semis. We've added scoring, improved our power play, tightened up an already top-10 penalty killing unit, and added a dominant face-off man that should solidify us in the top 5 in that category.

And, of course, Vezina candidate Ilya Bryzgalov returns. We're ready for our first ever Cup appearance, and excited to get to camp.

The Minnesota Wild are making Antti Miettinen, Cam Barker, and Matt Carle available if there's any interest.

Not sure what I'm looking for, or if I even want to move them in the end. Just looking to see if there's some interest and what I could get in return. Not really looking at bringing back too much salary, though.

Almost as bad as paying Derrick Brassard $3.2 million over the next 4 years when he has 7 goals and 21 assists over 62 games, and you also traded for that contract, you didn't even inherit it :handclap: good on ya. Lehtinen at least brings leadership and defensive awareness.

The Preds have come to terms with an unrestricted free agent forward, as well as a goalie. We will hold a press conference to officially announce the signings once we have worked out a couple more signings.

:coyotes acquire forward Mikael Samuelsson from the Edmonton Oilers for a 2011 2nd round pick.

When Mikael became available we jumped at the opportunity to acquire him. He plays an exceptional two-way game, which fits Tip's style, and he's among the best in front of the net on the power play.

Confusing Samuelsson with Holmstrom?
