Trade Deadline Passed. READ THE RULES.

Commissioners

Basic Rundown

  • There will be 30 GMs, 1 for each team. We ask that you do not sign up if you do not plan on being active daily.
  • The time that this game hypothetically takes place in is the trade deadline of the 2009-2010 season. After the deadline has “passed”, we will vote on playoff seeding, as well as the winners of each playoff round until we get a Stanley Cup winner. After the Stanley Cup voting, we will have an off-season, complete with the Entry Draft, Free Agency, and additional trades.

Salary Cap

  • The salary cap for the trade deadline until the end of the playoff voting is going to be $56.8M
  • We will be using capgeek.com to find our players pro-rated cap hits.
    1) Find the player's Daily Cap Hit on CapGeek.
    2) Multiply said players daily salary by 40 (The # of days remaining in the season at the trade deadline)
    3) Subtract this # from the player's total cap hit and allow this # to continue to count against your cap total
    4) For any player you are acquiring, use this same method (Daily cap Hit*40) and this is the pro-rated cap hit of your new player.
  • It could get complicated for some, so PM a commishioner if you have any questions or if you need the caculations to be made for you.
  • The salary cap for the 2010-2011 season will be $57.6M

Waivers/Buyouts
  • Post in this thread if you'd like to place a player on waivers.
  • Each team has the option of sending down 1 player with 1-way contracts to the minors (or Europe) due to cap reasons and only 1 buyout will be allowed per team.
  • The lowest team in the standings in real life gets highest waiver wire priority.

Trades
  • All trades must be sent to IslesRock4 and RR or else they are not valid.
  • Once a trade is agreed upon, send it in BEFORE POSTING, and then you can announce it in the thread. A deal without a NTC or NMC does not have to be approved.
  • If a trade is announced prior to it being sent in, it will be vetoed.
  • ALL MOVES MUST BE SOMEWHAT REALISTIC. Washington will not trade Ovechkin, Pittsburgh will not trade Crosby, etc. The commishioners hold the power to veto any ridiculous trades.
  • A trade involving a NTC or NMC must be approved by BOTH trade managers prior to posting. Keep in mind it will only be on a rare occasion that a NTC or NMC is waived.
  • If a trade involving a NTC or NMC is announced before approval, it will be vetoed.
  • If a team does not have enough cap space to acquire a certain player, the trade will be vetoed.

NJ is looking to add a defenseman who can play solid minutes and move the puck. Prospects and picks are available.

NJ is also looking to move Brian Rolston (although a trade probably wouldn't be made until the offseason - Rolston is still a valuable asset for the upcoming playoffs). NJ's first round pick in 2011 is available to a team who would be willing to take Rolston, and the Devils are also prepared to take back a bad contract in any trade.

Edmonton Oilers

The Edmonton Oilers:

Our forwards group is very small, outside of a few guys. We have been looking for a number 1 line center to play alongside Ales Hemsky for years and Gagner seems to be taking over that role, but we are seriously considering using our 1st round pick to attain a true number 1 center. We are able to do this because we have two stud prospects within our system who are capable of being 1st line wingers with Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson and Jordan Eberle. If we can not find a number 1 center Ales Hemsky will be dealt in the offseason

Goals

Fowards – We want a number 1 center and are willing to pay the price to do this. We are prepared to offer our 1st round pick, and add prospects such as Nash, Peckham, Rajala, Roy, Cornet. Young players such as Andrew Cogliano, Gilbert Brule, Robert Nielson, Patrick O’Sullivan are also available. If we cannot find a number 1 center Ales Hemsky will be moved in the off season.

Defense: Our defense is our strong point at the moment. We have puck movers such as Lubomir Visnovsky, Denis Grebeshkov and Tom Gilbert. This seems to be quite a bit of money tied up in our defence core so either Greb or Gilbert will be moved for a big foward. Veteran Defensmen Sheldon Souray has asked to be traded and we will grant him that wish before the deadline.

Goalies: With signing Nikolai Khabibulin this off season we hoped the goaltending position would be solid for the next few years until one of our prospects emerged but his injuries scare us too much and he be moved to a contender if he is desired.

This will be a more of a retooling mode here in Edmonton. We are hoping to be a serious contender in the 2011-2012 season.

Available:

Patrick O’Sullivan, Andrew Cogliano, Ehtan Moreau, Mike Comrie, Fernando Pisani, Robert Nielson, Sheldon Souray, One of Tom Gilbert OR Denis Grebeshkov,

Will take offers on:

Nikolai Khabibulin, Shawn Horcoff

Goals: Get a # 1 center, get another top 6 foward, get a starting goalie

The :sabres are looking to retool this year and contend next year. Our #1 need is for a BIG top-six center in the Staal/Lecavalier/Getzlaf mold, not necesarilly at the same skill level as the guys I mentioned but just a big guy down the middle. We are also looking for a PMD/PPQB for our top-six. Both players should be locked into deals past this year.

Detroit is looking to do a bit of a shakeup, while staying in the playoff picture.

Rafalski, Stuart, and Filppula are the bigger names that could be traded. Also looking to ship out Chris Osgood, Jason Williams, Patrick Eaves, and Drew Miller.

Rafalski would require a top winger coming back my way. Filppula would call for a top 4 defenseman and a 1st round pick.

All offers will be listened to (minus any that include Lidstrom, Howard, or Franzen.)

That doesn't mean I want to trade Datsyuk or Zetterberg the slightest bit - but I'll consider.

The Florida Panthers are entertaining offers for goaltender Tomas Vokoun. He's got one more year left on his contract at $5.7M and is among the league leaders in most statistical categories. We're not looking to dump him, but rather parlay him into some assets that can help us compete in the future. Most likely he won't be dealt at the deadline as it will probably be hard to work out a deal that is beneficial for both sides, but if you're interested feel free to contact me. He does have a NMC in his contract however.

Dennis Seidenberg, Jordan Leopold and Cory Stillman are all actively being shopped. The first two are UFA at season's end while Stillman has one more year at just over $3.5M. Make an offer if interested, looking for picks/prospects or younger players.

Everyone else on the roster is available, although certain players(Booth, Weiss, Kulikov) are highly unlikely to be moved.
