Click https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/1792257 and check out the long-term outlook for more information. The team retains its first round picks and has enough prospect ammunition to fill holes as required.

At the start of 2023-24, the team should have the following players as listed below and organized by ascending in age. Particularly notable players are bolded.
  • Left wing
    • Bratt, 24
    • J. Boqvist, 24
    • Kuokkanen, 25
    • Zacha, 26
    • Wood, 27
  • Centre
    • Holloway, 21
    • Hughes, 22
    • Groulx, 23
    • Hischier, 24
    • Patrick, 24
    • Roy, 26
  • Right wing
    • Holtz, 21
    • Bastian, 25
    • M. McLeod, 25
    • J. Anderson, 25
    • Aube-Kubel, 27
  • Defence
    • Okhotyuk, 22
    • Bahl, 23
    • H. Fleury, 27
    • Severson, 28
    • H. Lindholm, 29
  • Goal
    • Blackwood, 25
Gusev will have just crested 31 if he's retained for 23-24 while Niederreiter would be 30. Some centres will need to be shunted to the wing like Groulx, Holloway and Roy.

You'll note that unlike most other rebuilders, New Jersey actually has a functional team today so there won't be the catastrophic losing stink caused by the rotting corpses of young players thrown to the wolves.

:ducks2 Rebuild:

Updated Ducks Asset Rankings (bold meaning in NHL for 2020-21) below

This is a ranking of how I view future assets for say 3-5 seasons from now, some centres had to be shifted to wing, and LD to RD to accommodate. I recommend looking up prospects you don't know such as Leon Gawanke to see the extraordinary progress they've made and where they'd be on most depth charts. Vets are listed lower if we see them as unusable or tradeable come that time.

Arizona sold off OEL and Raanta for the bolded futures. Forward group lacks a star (hello 2021 1st) but has great depth for the future. Defense has a solid top few young guys but lacks depth which we hope to address with our upcoming draft picks (including newly acquired Sharks 1st).

Our young guys won't be thrust into roles they aren't ready for causing them to bust like some of these rebuilders so vote us yay.

We should run a draft lottery sim for 2021. I'm under the impression I'd be in pretty good contention for two picks in the top five. Add Aatu Raty and Owen Power and this rebuild starts moving a lot quicker.
