READ THE RULES.

And make sure you have your ROSTER & CAP INFO posted in the roster thread!

Commissioners

All times EST and subject to change

Salary Cap
  • CAPFRIENDLY IS RECOMMENDED FOR ALL CAP INFO.
  • The salary cap maximum for the 2018-2019 season is $80M.
  • The salary cap minimum for the 2018-2019 season is $59M
  • The salary cap maximum for the 2019-20 season is $83M
  • Teams may exceed the cap maximum by 10% during the offseason.
  • Teams must comply with the salary cap during the season and by the end of the game.
  • Teams may have a roster of no more than 23 players by the end of the game.

Waivers/Buyouts

  • Post in this thread if you’d like to place a player on waivers.
  • Burying a player in the minors or Europe only eliminates a maximum of $$1.025 of their cap hit. Use the Buyout Calculator.
  • A player will be on waivers for 24 hours.
  • Waiver priority will be based on the NHL standings as of the 11/25/18
  • If a team claims a player off of waivers, they then have the lowest waiver priority.
  • Teams are permitted to use a maximum of TWO ordinary buyouts.

Trades
  • All trades must be sent to @Peter Griffin and @SJSharks39 or else they are not valid.
  • Trade submissions must include the teams involved, the first and last names of players involved, as well as, the year and original owner of draft picks changing hands, as applicable.
  • Trade submissions that do not contain all relevant information will not be valid.
  • Once a trade is agreed upon, send it in BEFORE POSTING, and then you can announce it in the thread. A deal without a NTC or NMC does not have to be approved.
  • If a trade is announced prior to it being sent in, it will be vetoed.
  • ALL MOVES MUST BE SOMEWHAT REALISTIC. The commissioners hold the power to veto any moves we deem to be ridiculous.
  • A trade involving a NTC or NMC must be sent in by BOTH GMs with a reasoning for the player(s) to waive. The trade must be approved by BOTH JW and SJSharks39 prior to posting. Keep in mind that many NTCs or NMCs will NOT be waived.
  • A proactive approach for clause waives is encouraged - if you're not sure if a player will waive for a specific team - ASK! You can likely expect a response within a day, if not sooner.
  • The commissioners will provide a 5 to 8-team no-trade list for players with an unspecified "limited NTC" upon request.
  • If a trade involving a NTC or NMC is announced before approval, it will be vetoed.
  • If a team does not have enough cap space to complete a trade that has been sent in, the trade will be vetoed.
  • Vetoed deals must be significantly altered in order for them to be accepted.
  • If a player waives his NTC or NMC, the NTC or NMC will still be valid with their new team.
  • Players retain no-trade protection after being traded unless the clause was not already active at the time of the trade.

Free Agent Offers
  • All free agent offers must be submitted to agents in the following format: Player Name - # years, $#,###,###/year, Clause (i.e. Evander Kane - 7 years, $7,000,000/year, LNTC), or else they will not be valid.
    • This is to be fair to those who volunteer their time as agents. It is otherwise an incredibly tedious task to keep track of player offers and post them in the FA thread.
  • All RFAs will be tendered a contract unless specified by their GM.
  • Teams are only permitted to use their own original selections as compensation for offer sheets.
Agents
Awards Voting
  • At the end of the game (provided that there is enough interest & I know there will be because you guys are all crazy competitors...) participants will be encouraged to vote on a number of "awards".
  • Awards will earn you bragging rights among your fellow GMs.
  • Criteria and names of awards are still under construction, but so far we have: best rebuild, best team on paper, most improved team, best signing, best draft, and best (most even) trade.
  • If you have any suggestions, feel free to send me a message!

:rangers looking to rebuild. Which means our UFA's will go to the top offer (Hayes, Zuccarello especially). Kreider, Zibanejad and Shattenkirk are other top players for us that could be had and only are high end youth/prospects are untouchable.

:sabres looking to have a relatively quiet deadline. Would like to move out some of Beaulieu, Hunwick, Sobotka or Pominville (will pay for the later 3) to make space for our NHL ready youngsters. Only big move we want to make is swapping Scandella/futures for a middle-6 C. And potentially swap Sheary for a different winger.

:panthersSelling EVERYONE!
Large and small, young and old, nobody is off limits.

:starsI got permission from the commish, we are in the alternate universe in which Benn and Seguin are being moved by Stars management. Get your offers ins, they won't waive for any team but they are not limiting themselves to just Nashville so if you are a team other than Nashville you definitely have a shot.

Alex Edler/Chris Tanev could be moved, but largely depends on the offers we receive. We are content with hanging onto both players.

Will also listen to offers on Ben Hutton and Troy Stecher.

Nikolay Goldobin could be moved for a pick or defensive prospect.

Brandon Sutter and Erik Gudbranson are both available with salary retention.

Markus Granlund, Michael Del Zotto and Derrick Pouliot are all available for cheap.

Would like to explore options for moving Loui Eriksson and Sam Gagner.

:cbj Trade to Announce!

Jaden Schwartz

:blues

2019 first round pick, Liam Foudy, Riley Nash

Quite a hefty price to pay, although we needed a top-6 winger to solidify an already deep offensive group. Good working with you, @Retinalz

Not sure why I chose this team. Literally no cap room. Any deal is going to have to include Burakovsky going the other way.

:hawks

Everyone over 23 is on the block for the right deal. Willing to retain half on Kane and Toews if it’s a great return.

Open to moving anyone who isn't Dylan Larkin. Dennis Cholowski and Tyler Bertuzzi are close too.

Actively shopping Gustav Nyquist, Andreas Athanasiou, and Anthony Mantha in order to reshape, and support a core group.

Thomas Vanek, Nick Jensen, and Jimmy Howard are other rental pieces we could move.

Untouchable: Thomas Chabot, Brady Tkachuk, Jacob Bernard-Docker, Filip Gustavsson
Shopping: Matt Duchene, Mark Stone, Ryan Dzingel, Zack Smith, Mikkel Boedker, Mike Condon
Available: JG Pageau, Chris Tierney, Cody Ceci, Mark Borowiecki, Craig Anderson, Anders Nilsson

Going to be really active with the Senators. Obviously a lot of pieces for sale as we tear this thing down. Looking for mainly picks and prospects. Could be enticed to take on some cap dumps, but the price will be high unless they are LTIR candidates.

:wild

Shopping: Marcus Foligno, Greg Pateryn, Nate Prosser
Available: Eric Staal, Nino Niederreiter, Charlie Coyle

Not going to do much with the Wild. Looking to get cheaper. Will likely only deal one of Nino/Coyle.

Confirmed. Exactly what we're looking for, adding a good young player in Hartman who will hopefully be a big part of our core group when this team is ready to compete in a few years. Thanks LatvianTwist for the easy negotiations!

:avs around

Waiting on a NTC clearance on a deal. Other than that we are looking to improve our bottom pairing for a playoff run (expiring deal preferred), would like to add a top 6 forward and a bottom 6 defensive player.

Not moving Mack, Lando, Zadorov, Rantanen, Girard. Ottawa 1st isn't likely going anywhere.

Looking to move on from Calvert, Barberio, Andrighetto

Late night trade to announce:

STL trades Alex Pietrangelo and Ryan O'Reilly

COL trades Tyson Barrie, Tyson Jost, Connor Timmins, and Martin Kaut.

It was tough to give up these pieces but we feel having Ryan back will help us build a strong 2nd line and we feel Pietrangelo will help our defense be stronger on both sides of the puck.
