Not much offers for Mason and Brassard. Got little nipples on Vermette. We are hoping to trade Vermette or Brassard by the deadline.

:edmonton and :wild have hooked up on a multi player deal

Going to Minny are: Ales Hemsky, Tom Gilbert, 5th round pick 2012, 7th round pick 2013 + a conditional 2nd round pick in 2013 ( If Hemsky does not resign)

Going to Edmonton are: Cal Clutterbuck, Greg Zanon, Minnesota's 1st and 2nd round pick in 2012

The Oilers are very happy with this deal. We know we gave up 2 very good players but with the young high end players we have in our system, we need enough cap space to ensure we can lock them up long term. It was not realistic for us to keep either of these 2 players around. Hopefully we can insulate our young core with the proper players
Confirm. If SJ does have MINs second, would it be fine if I modified it to be a 2013 2nd?

With a Deep Pool of Defensive Prospects, Dallas Decides to Move On from Grossman

To Dallas: Nick Foligno, Filip Kuba

To Ottawa: Nicklas Grossman, Eric Nystrom

Grossman has been an excellent pro for the Dallas Stars, but it's time to allow some of our young players step into the lineup.

Nick Foligno is a perfect fit for Dallas as they try an become a more difficult team to play against.

Sens Acquire Grossman

:sens

The Ottawa Senators are pleased to announce that the club has acquired Nicklas Grossman and Eric Nystrom from the Dallas Stars, in exchange for Nick Foligno and Filip Kuba. The club immediately came to an agreement on an extension for the UFA-to-be Grossman, inking the emerging young defender to a 3 year, $12M extension.

"Nick has emerged this season as a quality defensive defenseman, who has developed quite a mean streak as well. His presence on our blueline will be much appreciated to compliment our offensive talents in Erik (Karlsson) and David (Rundblad). We wish to thank Nick and Filip for their time in Ottawa and wish them all the best in Dallas."

The Sens are looking to move Eric Nystrom, Jesse Winchester, Sergei Gonchar and Matt Carkner. Winchester and Carkner (UFA '12) are both on expiring contracts while Nystrom and Gonchar both have one more year left on their current deals.

Winnipeg management confirms the controversial trade announced early this morning, sending Tobias Enstrom and Chris Mason to the Bruins for David Krejci and Andrew Ference

"Enstrom was a big part of this franchise, but the fact is #1 Centres are hard to get. Ask anybody in Toronto. Half the league wants a good one, and we believe with Krejci and Little we have two #1Cs, plus an improvement in our 2nd/3rd pair D with Ference. Both men know how to win Cups, that's something that we need in this locker room."

In another move, Winnipeg acquires much-maligned Gilbert Brule from the Oil for a 2013 7th round pick

Stastny will be traded today - the deal is, essentially, done.

If you want in, offer now. Price is a top 6 LW, an able top-6 center, and a defenseman + pick.

Antropov- Top 6 option. Looking for an NHLer and a good pick/prospect (possibly 2)
Fehr- Top 6 Option, RFA. looking for an NHLer/pick/prospect

Stapleton, Wellwood- Bottom 6 rental options. A pick/prospect/youngster will do. Or 2nd for Player+3rd

Oduya/Jones- Top 4/Top 6D rentals. pick/prospect/youngster will do

Nittymaki- #2G rental. Pick/prospect/youngster will be fine. Or Nitty+pick for a young #2

*Following guys can be had for VERY cheap (low pick, project, cap dump+, RFA you arent planning on keeping). Don't fit into my long-term plans:

Aaron Gagnon
Akim Aliu
Jason Jaffrey
Mark Flood(D)

NEEDS: PICKS/PROSPECTS (paricularly high-end ones), Top 4D, Top 6/Top 9 Scorer

**Will also look at Cap dumps. I have the space, might as well put it to use **

Doan to San Jose

To :sharks Shane Doan
To :coyotes Nick Petrecki, SAN 2013 1st

With PHX out of the playoffs we're giving our captain a chance to make a deep playoff run with the Sharks. We're confident Doaner will re-sign with us this summer and finish out his career with us. So as a rental deal this is a no-brainer.

To :rangers

Mikael Samuelsson

"We would like to thank Mikael for his time in Vancouver, and wish him the best with the Rangers. Mikael didn't fit in are future plans, and wouldn't have been re-signed anyway. We really love the return we got in Wojtek Wolski, he will start on are second line with Ryan Kesler, and Cody Hodgson, but with more moves likely coming it's unknown if he will stay in that position. Wolski is a tremendous player, and will add depth to the are lineup" Canucks GM Nik Veljis thoughts on the trade he just made.
