Damn Kopitar looks old and tired.

Is he injured? I am not sure which name fits him right now...Slopitar or Perimitar. Both. Slow, peripheral, non invloved physcially or emotionally.

Third line: Kempe, Pearson, Luff...totals between the 3: 1 goal this season. ok, Luff has 3 games, but still, this is your third line?
Amadio is a better player than all 3 of these players. He gets sent down one game and had 3 assists, 5 shots and was plus 3...and gets recalled and sits and sits. He should play next game...and Ladue should get in next game, as WD wants
the D involved more on the offense. Ladue is better than Phaneuf, Fantenberg and Forbort and should play.

Move Kopitar to third line and off 1st PP unit. Send a msg. When Kovalchuk signed one thing he said "I've never got to play with a player like Kopitar" Must be a total letdown.

Nate Thompson now has 1 goal in 41 games since joining the Kings. 35 years old, worst player on the worst team in the NHL. I'm not saying the Kings youth is any good, but at this point that spot needs to be filled by a younger player with atleast some upside. Thompson will be in the AHL or Europe next season if he wants to keep playing pro hockey.

But Nate is cool and good for social media!!! His rad tatted right arm sleeve...his new look Village People Stache...and he converted to Judaism this Summer and
that was a cool blog story. Don't MISS the big picture here - social media marketing and keeping off ice things relevent. They matter!

Big divisional game coming up at least.

And at home. That's iffy.

They look like they don't give a crap.To relax in their environment.Time for a wake up call, change leadership and make a trade.

It's Nov 9th, plenty of teams are struggling, and still there have been zero trades of any significance around the league since the start of the season. Last year, by this time, there were a couple minor deals, but the only significant one was Duchene/Turris. Then the next significant one wouldn't be until Nov 30th. Then really nothing until Feb.

Not saying they don't happen at all, but trades are tough to do these days. Even if you want to do something, the cap is too dominant. Cap hits and salaries in future years have to be taken into account, not just the current year. Guys on IR that will come back at some point this year have to be accounted for. No GM wants to put themselves at a disadvantage for when they have to add that cap hit back. It was good when you could easily make a shake up trade early in a season if you wanted to, but that's just not how it works anymore. You can maybe play around on the fringes of a roster, but you still need expiring contracts for just that.

More reasons to crap can Eight year deals.

I sure hope GM's fight for four/five year contract max and let the players go to UFA at a younger age.

I'm sure glad Thompson is on the roster to win faceoffs Lose every faceoff he doesn't cheat excessively and get kicked out so it doesn't hurt his percentage.

Hes garbage. Hes 5th on the team in face off percentage. Hes suppose to be a face off specialist. Hes f***ing useless.

How often over the years have we asked is Kopitar hurt when he's not putting up points? Usually, he ends up not being hurt.

Can't have him scoring at a 35 point pace though. Been better the last few games, but 0 ES assists this year. No ES points since Brown got back. Kopitar is an outstanding 3rd line center, just not for that cap hit.

That would help. Get rid of the 50% drop that's allowed between the first and last year of deals too. Better than it was, but there's still too much front loading.

Tough to directly blame anyone specifically. Players/agents want the money, which makes total sense, it's their job. GM's want the cap space to build a better team, and if it doesn't work, they won't be around to deal with the downside. Owners want cost certainty. The league as a whole doesn't want teams folding or going through bankruptcy. Tragedy of the commons I guess.

Where's that talk about how close this team is to a playoff spot after tonight? This team is ****.

I'm a Panthers fan and feel better about them after tonight

The Kings dominated possession tonight, but were outclassed by a good trap. I feel like you didn't watch the game based on your comments. I'm sure that the Panthers are great fun though.

At least Carter and Kovalchuk are building some stock. If they keep it up, you can sell really high on those players at the deadline.

But Luc will probably re-sign them to dual 8 year extensions because tHe WiNdOw iS sTiLL oPeN. .

Going by your logic, Tyler Toffoli is our best faceoff man....he's at a 90% clip...I mean...that's completely amazing, he should be taking every....oh wait...what...sample size matters?

Oh...you mean his 11 draws, and Lewsis's 13 draws shouldn't really be considered....yea but % man....%

On a GENERAL note (so Winger doesn't think I am picking on him)

Glad to see the negativity bounce back with a passion....have we burnt the place down yet, am I too late for that?

Kings played extremely well in the 2nd, Minny adjusted, and the Kings did not in the 2nd...and that's the difference......but naw....let's just trash the players because we don't understand what their roles are...

We were a Kopitar short for the win last night. If that guy played anywhere close to the 70 point a year Kopitar we have know it would have been a different game last night. Other than his first period shot where he was stoned by Dubnyk offense seemed to die when he was out there.

Kovy and Carter on the other hand are starting to bring it and that is a good sign. Unfortunately we need our first line to carry us.

I even seen a couple brief glimpses of Kempe earlier in the game. If the dude could be harnessed into a winger I think it would be a better fit. He likes to play w an edge and has the speed to disrupt on the forecheck. Get him on Amadio’s wing with Pearson on the other side. Give it a try. All three have skill and size.

Muzzin has played his best two games in two years back to back. The guy jumped into plays and literally hit anything that moved. If this keeps up I want him back with Doughty. That gives us 25 minutes of the game that we control the puck. Any other defenseman other than DD and Muzzin are expendable at this point

It was a crappy slow trapping game and we basically lost because we couldn’t get that second goal. I wasn’t worried about the loss as much as Kopitars play. Rip the C off and give it to Brown And let Kopi just concentrate on hockey. He looks like he is wearing the weight of the whole teams struggles on his shoulders

Probably to get a look at what they have, and see if he should stay or go more than anything, he's been exactly what you said, ok, but not noticeable, hasn't made glaring errors, or spectacular plays yet...

I wonder if Kovalchuk would waive his NTC to go to a contender. Bigger question might be, would a contender be willing to take on Kovalchuk for this season then two more after this season?

I think the Kings would have to retain some of his salary to make a trade palatable for a contending team. Retaining shouldn't be a problem for the Kings as they should only be taking back prospects and picks in any trade, and they aren't going to win anything in the foreseeable future.

Why would you give it back to Brown? Didn't he basically say he had the same problem with the C?
