He has serious illness in recent years due to rock and roll lifestyle

But he reportedly could go toe to toe with Buddy Rich in being a jerk

The most ironic thing in all this is just about 3 weeks ago a nostalgia Facebook group I'm in, Do You Remember? posted some joke about how Keith Richards would be the last person left on Earth, someone mentioned another musician that I can't think of at the moment, and then Ginger Baker himself posted the comment "and..." indicating himself. He must have already been in the hospital at that point, but clearly thought he'd pull through.
