Speculation: Giguere to retire

The 2nd least surprising news of the summer (the 1st being a ROR - contract dispute).

Wish Jiggy all the best for the future. Class-act and from reports an amazing teammate.

Pretty much the only major concern I have now that he's gone is the backup position in net. I'm not sure if Berra was the answer. Time will tell, but we need a solid backup that can win us games. Berra hasn't proved that yet, but maybe with help from Allaire, this can turn into a good move, however, he won't be able to replace Giggy's leadership.

Wouldn't be shocked if Pickard and/or Aitokallio outplay Berra in camp either.

Should we experience a sustained upturn in fortunes over the next ~5 years I will forever hold Jiggy Goes to Vegas as the catalyst, even if it was only in symbolic terms to us as outsiders. Either way, I'll be eternally grateful to him for it. Good luck to him with whatever he does.

Jiggy was a great addition to the team. He provided something in all three years in an Avs jersey.
