Good player. I know he was expected to be one of the stars of World Cup 1990 but didn't have the tournament he wanted to have. Obviously always will be seen as a Sampdoria hero, but in my mind perhaps most notable as one of the first Italian players to go to England in the 90s as part of Ruud Gullit's 'revolution' at Chelsea which really was perhaps the start of the "global era" in the Premier League.

Yeah, Schillagi stole his thunder at Italia'90, but his club career was very good even if the NT team career was only decent compared to expectations, especially after Euro'88.
