Getting a point on a goal while off the ice

Last night, Nate Schmidt had 4 even-strength assists in a 6-0 win but was only a +2, because he had made a change before the puck went in on 2 of those Vegas goals he had gotten a point on.

Apart from being another flaw in Plus-Minus, this got me curious as to how (un)common this might be in general. In the Play-by-Play, you can see he's listed on the assist but not being on the ice, so I would think it should be a pretty easy thing to scrape.

I'd be interested the sum of say how many times this happened last year across the league and/or this year, to get an idea of how fluky something like this is.

Could be on an empty-net goal I guess.

They credited Sam Gagner on this goal, though I'm not sure he touched it, looked like a clean win for the Boston centerman.

In a way, but not necessarily. The scorer may not even get a credit for a shot.

It's own goals, either on delayed penalties or bounces off, or tips past goalie on a careless play.

Do you know the last time someone got credit for a goal while being off the ice?
