hope it loads
Met Jay in LA at a Kings/Canadiens game about 5 years ago. Really decent guy.
That's a wonderful piece. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful. That was the first time I felt the love and passion for the Habs in a long time. Can’t wait to read his book.
Good piece...but all it does is frustrate me.
I'm really tired of hearing how great the Habs were. I feel like it's all people cling on to.
Habs are a effin joke. They were once the greatest, sure, that's back when buying a Pepsi cost like 10 cents, and you could buy a very humble house for 70K.
That's so long ago. It pisses me off more than anything. We are an embarrassement to our past.
Hey Jay, what happened on the editing floor? There was .1 seconds of footage that somehow survived in this clip -- how the hell did Drouin's face make it to the final cut?
As Hab fans, we're familiar with most of the footage. We've seen it in various forms over the years.
And some time-honored cliches about religion, culture and language.
Great job, Jay. You even included the torch thing. Geoff will be moved. You've just earned yourself a seat upgrade whenever you're back at the BC.
I've never lived in Montreal, never lived in Quebec, but I've always had a strong connection to this club from the other side of the country. No other team in any other sport brings out the emotions for me like the habs have done.
This piece just kind of brought me back to the Centennial time, and even the closing of the forum. Good stuff.
Monsieur Maurice Richard :')
Excellent video. Thanks for posting!
he was on CBC radio talking about it last week. it was pretty good when a guy stumping for a book he wrote starts with " no one really needs another history of the montreal canadiens book".
apparently its a lot of the relationship between him and his dad where hockey was the common ground.
They're definitely leaning into the "from failing hands/nos bras meurtris" part of the motto
without the valleys, you don't appreciate the peaks.
We are currently having a hard time, its longer than many (most) would have liked and some are not even convinced that we are not currently on the right path and want to tank now to potentially have a chance sometime in the indeterminate future. we aren't the cubs, and as dark as it currently looks, there are few teams who would not willingly trade places with us.
The footage was cool, however, no different from past documentaries about the Habs. The narration was quite lame; seems like sensational drivel from Baruchel in order to make a quick buck. Capitalizing on the past is outdated, and obnoxious.
