B-Players: Could be drafted in round 4 through 7, but there is also a chance they go undrafted. C-Players: Maybe a late round pick, but more likely won't be drafted D-Players: Small chance they could develop into NHL level players, but not in time to be drafted.
2021 Draft Overagers - January Ranking - Skaters: Goalies: A-Players: I think they deserve to be drafted as overagers. B-Players: I think that maybe a team could take a flyer on them, but their chances are slim. C-Players: Probably won't be drafted, but could play themselves on the radar of NHL teams as free agents. D-Players: Will most likely spend their careers in Germany and maybe play for the national team sometimes. Undrafted Free Agents - January Ranking - Skaters: Goalies: A-Players: There is a really good chance they get signed by an NHL team. B-Players: They have a decent chance to get a deal with an NHL team, but it's far from a sure thing. C-Players: They could play themselves on the radar of NHL teams but at this point it's unlikely they will be signed. D-Players: Will most likely spend their careers in Germany and maybe play for the national team sometimes.

2025 Draft and beyond? Aleksei Abramov (2025 or 2026 Draft) Adel Akhmadeev (2026 or 2027 Draft) Marc Blank (2025 or 2026 Draft) Landon Dupont (2027 or 2028 Draft) Awrelij Fomenko (2025 or 2026 Draft) David Lewandowski (2025 Draft) Karl Philipp Pohle (2025 or 2026 Draft) Max Thiel (2026 Draft) Lennox Ullmann (2028 Draft) I'll admit that we are getting in somewhat ridiculous territory here with players aged 9-13. So let me know if you think I should remove them and wait until they are older.
It is a very impressive piece of work you have done here Maverick. Are the players listed in random order or by level of talent? Could you tell me those you believe stand the best chance of getting drafted in 2013. I suppose it is seldom that a player has been drafted directly out of a German junior league, and that it is mandatory that they have some adult hockey experience (not neccecary in the DEL but at least in the 2.BL). Are Leon Draisaitl and Dominik Kahun the best talents from 1995 playing outside Germany?
Thanks. I have listed the players alphabetically, and I am just following their stats, and rarely if ever actually see them play. I have seen some of the late '94 and '95, though, and Kahun and Draisaitl are pretty much in a league of their own. Especially Draisaitl since he is not even draft eligible in 2013 because of his late birthday. However there are some 1995 born players in Germany who are quite talented. Tim Bender on defense and forwards Kevin Orendorz and Markus Eisenschmid are among my favourite German prospects for this draft. But their chances are rather slim compared to guys like Kahun or Frederik Tiffels, who is playing in the USHL. It is true that most (maybe even all) players that are drafted out of Germany had already played in men's league.
Maximilian Glässl will be playing for my hometown team HIFK (junior B) this upcoming season. It's going to be a talented team for sure and Glässl is going to help on the blueline, since HIFK has lost two top four defenseman from last years Junior C team. Also there will ne only three defenseman back from the junior b team, only one being a regular.
@Sparta2009: Thank you very much for the update on Glässl. It is good to hear, that he seems to be developing nicely and that he will be staying in Finland. As far as this thread goes, I have decided to focus on fewer players, so that hopefully I will be able to keep it updated regularly. I will update it today with the end of season stats for those players I will focus on for next season.
The new DNL season is starting this weekend which means I have started updating this thread again. And I have added some information on Non-German players in the DNL.
I decided to add another category, with players who played in North America (Junior or Pro) and returned to Germany and young players who could potentially play internationally for Germany in the future. I will update this thread once or twice every month, because my time does not allow more than that at the moment. The Next update will come around 2013-10-07.
Impressive work Maverik. Let's hope some of them make it into the draft. There seem to be a few that are crushing the Schüler-BL again, are they compareble in terms of talent level than previous players that did so (Kahun, Rieder, Draisaitl,...). Of course Draisaitl is in his own world, but for compared tothe rest.. THe guys I am refering to are: Tobias Eder Christoph Kiefersauer Neal Samanski Rico Rossi Pascal Grosse And for the DNL: Ilya Sharipov Jakob Mayenschein
Yannik Valenti seems to be off to an amazing start. 15 points in 4 games, as a late 2000, outscoring even players born in early 1998. Obviously far too early in the season, and at that age far too early in the career to make anything out of it, but it's very impressive nontheless. On a minor note, Ralf Rinke (on the potential national team players list) is currently playing for Hamburg in the DEL, not Bremerhaven. He might return to Bremerhaven once everyone is healthy, but right now he should get the majority of the games with Hamburg.
Of course with the different groups in the Schüler BL the stats are a bit skewed for many of the players especially early on. There is a team in "Süd Gruppe B" (TEV Miesbach) that has given up 103 goals in 6 games while only scoring 4 goals themselves. So obviously the stats of their opponents' players might be a bit inflated. I know that about Rinke, but I hadn't got around to including his DEL stats, yet. I am currently working on that. But I appreciate the info. Please let me know if I forget anything else. Also if anyone would like certain players added to my lists please let me know. Personally I am really intrigued by Eisbären goalie Benjamin Beck. The kid is 14 and as tall as I am (6'4''). I wonder how he will develop. I'll keep working on this thread and it should be completely updated with this weekends games on Monday afternoon.
I have completed the update. Hopefully without too many mistakes. I will probably do the next update sometime around the end of October or the start of November.
I don't think any of these kids are really gonna come close to Draisaitl, Kahun or Rieder (statistically). What these 3 did at that level will probably not be repeated by anyone anytime soon. Since I have not seen them play, I cannot comment on their skills or talent. But I believe that Tobias Eder is the most promising of the lot. But this is just a hunch based on past numbers both in league play and international play. So don't put too much stock in it. Eder comes from an interesting family, as far as hockey is concerned. His brother Andreas is playing in the WHL, and his cousin and teammate Michael Grabmaier seems also to be a rather talented young player.

Any chances of having Alexandre Sills playing for the Germany National Team? Draisatl scored 2 more points in his last game..looks like it will be the needed seconds great year to increase the chances for an early draft. But the other Germans like Sedlar, Eder, Kammerer, Eisenschmid seem to have problems. I expected more from them...concerning the stats. I can't say anything about their way of playing.
Honestly, I think he would rather play with team Canada since he played pretty much his whole hockey in Québec. Don't be too fast on judging Sedlar, Eder, Kammerer and Eisenschmid by their points production. They were all playing in the DNL last year and it's hard for most European to adjust their style to the North-American system/ice. I've seen them play and they actually look better than their stats show, I believe the stats will get better by the end of October/November.
