Don't think he is eligible for U17's becuase he has a late September birthday. Wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't go to the tournament for the U18s either.
Ah I remember now. He should, he's good and the system isn't flooded with amazing defensemen. Plane tickets I understand though those are expensive.

He's one of the 2018s I think has a chance for next year's U20, him and Bokk.

Don't think there is a question he's good enough. I sure hope he goes but I don't think he'll go to play for Germany until the U18s. Considering he has a game for Des Moines on the 28th.

I finally got around to updating the OPs, and will do the same in the German prospect thread over the next couple of days.

Does anyone have german roster of The Zuchwil 5 Nations Tournament?

Unfortunately not. I keep looking, but couldn't find anything so far.

To everyone Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays or whatever else you might be celebrating.

Aside from the obviously missing Gawanke and Ugbekile, I am a little surprised/disappointed that none of the following players are on the team.

Nikita Alexandrov (Probably still not decided if he wants to play for Germany)
Gregory Saakyan
Tim Fleischer
Yannik Valenti

No idea what the reasons are, but after Bokk these four are the most intriguing propects of, what I hope to be a very good year 2000. I am not counting Magnus Eisenmenger for now, otherwise he too would be on that list.

Nevertheless this should be a decent team.

Magnus Eisenmenger should be really on the list he is one of the best Players in the swedish j18 Elite level and he is playing for one of the best Teams Djurgarden.

Bokk wasn't in the game today, I'm very disappointed in the choices Germany made. Such a shame.

Doubt the family is eligible, and even if his brother is he's 2 years younger and we have no clue when they moved.

Stachowiak scores against Switzerland, 6-1 score.

Correct but has the German Faderation even ask Magnus Eisenmenger if he wants to play
for Germany or do they have no interest?

Can't really say, this sort of stuff would never be made public. But I would guess they have asked him, since they obviously had contact to his brother who played in an invitational tournament for Germany a couple of years ago.

I don't think Magnus will ever play for Germany at the junior level. Best case scenario for Germany would be that he doesn't make it on the Swedish national team over the next years and decides to play for Germany as a fall back.

The U16 team won their first game in the tournament in Finland 3-1 vs. Slovakia.
Schmidt, Schumacher and Slezak (EN) scored the goals, Justin Fuß made 25 saves.
Alberg, Varejcka and Schmidt picked up one assist each.

U18 lost 2-5 to Czech Republic yesterday.

Is Bokk hurt? Didn´t play again.

I don't get it why he isn't playing. Haven't heard anything about an injury. I'm pretty sure he is better than most of the other forwards there, eventhough they are a year older.

Hopefully he gets to play in the last two games tomorrow and on Friday.

On a positive note:
The U16 is currently playing Switzerland in the tournament in Finland and have a 4-1 lead after the 2nd period. Jan Schumacher and Manuel Alberg scored two goals each and Kevin Slezak has two assists. Tommy Pasanen, Nino Kinder, Moritz Seider and Christian Obu each have one assist so far.

this 2001 german group looks strong, on the other hand, swiss seems to be weak

Agreed. This does not seem to be a strong Swiss team. I don't know if it's a bad year for them or if they are missing good players, but whatever the reason the team playing in this tournament appears to be uncommonly weak.

Still 2000 and 2001 look like pretty good years for Germany, and even 1999 should be fairly good, althoug it lacks depths. Hopefully this is a trend that continues.

U18 lost 5-2 to Slovakia today.
Overall they are 3/22 in powerplays and 57% in Penalty Killing. Way to go special teams :D
Statswise Tim Brunnhuber is the only positive standout. 2g 2a in 3games.

U16 lost the tournament deciding match against host Finland 8-1.

Well if you want to bring inferior players like Demmler, Gams, Lillich etc. Over players like Bokk, Eckl, Fleischer, Valenti, and Schutz I'm not that surprised.

Good for Brunnhuber, I didn't even notice he played in the oberliga.
