Highlights from yesterday's U17 game vs. Czech Republic:

 

Just out of curiosity, did Alexandrov made up his mind ? Ger or Rus ?

 

The U16 team beat Switzerland 6-3 today in a tournament in Austria.
Here is the boxscore.

They were outshot 49-33 but I like this group a lot, especially the offense with Adam, Kechter and Lutz.

 

46 Saves from Wolf. Whats his potential?

 

I honestly have no idea, because I have not seen him play yet, and I am not really a good judge of goalies anyway.

But he seems to have another strong game right now against Belarus. So far he has stopped 18 of 19 shots after 1 period keeping the game tied at 1.

EDIT: Score is now 5-1 in favor of Belarus after the 2nd period. The shots are 42-15 so Wolf has 37 saves so far.

EDIT: Wolf finished with 8 goals against on 60 shots, and the final score was 8-4. I would guess Roth gets the start tomorrow against Austria, but we'll see.

 

The U16 lost their final game of the tournament against Austria 2-5.
Either Austria has a really good group of 04 players or this is embarrassing.
Also the shot totals allowed in all three games were not exactly encouraging:
49 vs. Switzerland
60 vs. Belarus
45 vs. Austria

I still have high hope for this group, but it was not a good start, usually German teams do better in this tournament.

 

Sounds like every shot was counted no matter where.

No Varejcka or Hänelt either. Also thought they maybe would give Julian Lutz a chance to show at the camp considering his great start at alps hockey league

 

Jonas Gähr replaces Tobias Ancicka. The chance for Gähr and a great pity for Ancicka.

 

Lutz just got a cup of coffee in the DEL too I believe, shame he wasn't at least invited to camp. Germany could have used this as a year to foster some younger talents as there is no relegation this year so they are guaranteed a spot for next year.
