So, after my misunderstanding, back to the original question:

Just confirmed with the Musketeers that Stützle will stay in Mannheim this season, then join Sioux City in 2019. So, any information about him going over this year appears to be false.

Last I heard about the plans after that is that Stützle will join New Hampshire as a true freshman following the draft in 2020.
What happens on if he gets selected in the import draft next year? Still plans on going the NCAA route because there were some players that changed to the CHL?

Stützle with 2 goals vs Slovakia today at U20 level. Nice to see him score already on the "bigger stage". Very good sign in my opinion.

Hockey rink
Germany U18

Tiefensee is incomprehensibly promoted at DEB extremely, although he always has the worst save percentage in the tournaments. His footwork is below average.

Germany U18 - Denmark
Tiefensee 18/19
Bugl 3/3

I call it fake news. The correct stats:

Tiefensee 6 shots from Denmark total. 4 shots on goal. Saves 3. Save percentage 66,7%. Goal against average 2.00

Bugl 10 shots from Denmark total. 3 shots on goal. Saves 3 (1 outstanding)
Save percentage 100,0%. Goal against average 0.00

Germany U17

Borzecki - Tschwanow (Porunow) - Petersen
Dziambor - Glötzl

Best line on the tournament. Glötzl with three outstanding performances. He is a leader when he gets the coaches confidence.

At the rink.
Copying this from the world juniors talk because it's a relevant discussion:

Just saw this now:

Alright, so here's who was also listed.

Also For Germany: Tobias Ancicka, Alexander Dersch, Taro Jentzsch, Tommy Pasanen, Moritz Raab

I would say the only surprise is no Yannik Valenti to my count.

I am also surprised not to see Valenti on the list. On the other side, I am also surprised they have Raab on the list. He has totally flown under my radar. I guess I'll have to take a look at him, next time I get a chance.

BTW Nino Kinder (C) is another German on the list.

Central Scouting needs a certain number of players on their lists. So when they don't have enough, they like to toss someone on from a region that doesn't have anyone yet (or only few players). That's how Thomas Reichel ended up on the list a couple years ago, and Betzold last season. Everyone knows they don't have a chance, including whoever is in charge of putting them on the list in the first place. That said, I'm surprised to see this many Germans on there – it shows it's not just one for the sake of having a German on the list.

Seider and Alexandrov are without a doubt legit prospects and Jentzsch is having a very good year so far as well. Dersch, to me, isn't a legit NHL prospect and just shows the impact that playing in the CHL has on a prospect's exposure. Ancicka is arguably the best German prospect talent behind Hendrik Hane (who's likely too short to be considered an NHL prospect) but I didn't think he'd be on this list either. I haven't seen Pasanen play, so no comment. As to Raab... I'd place him in the Reichel/Betzold category, i.e. I don't really understand why he'd be on this list. I'm guessing someone from Central Scouting came out to see Seider in the DNL and noticed Raab as well, but having watched him many times, I don't think Raab is anything special or anywhere near NHL calibre.

* Gawanke will join the rest of the team on Monday after the games this weekend.
** Bokk will play for Växjö on Saturday and join the team on Sunday.

I like that there are not too many 99ers forced in there, just because they are older and have more experience.
For me there is not really anyone on this list who absolutely shouldn't be there. I am a little surprised Schiemenz is not there, but other than that I like it.

I expect Hane to be the starter in most, if not all games.

Not getting Alexandrov is a big miss though. Seems that he either doesn't care for Germany or he simply cares about his draft year and wants to take a year off until next season. Anybody know if any situation with him has been set in stone or are we still grasping at straws here?

Justin Schütz has also joined the U20 training camp. Looks like he is back, which could be good for the team if he can get back in game shape in time.

The lineup for today's friendly vs. Norway will be interesting.

Meverick, Could you write me where the problem is about U18? I thought that players born in 01´ have better quality. Who was absent? Slezak, Saider and? Because they played equally or little bit better against SUI and SVK one and half year ago.

I think Seider and Stützle were the ones whose absence really hurt. There are some others that could have made the team a bit stronger like Tommy Pasanen, Filip Reisnecker, Manuel Alberg, Filip Varejcka or Florian Elias.
But it's still a bit disappointing that they did not do better with the players they had. Although I should add that I did not get a chance to watch any of the games so my disapointment is based strictly on the results and the boxscore and not on an assessment of the actual performance.

I'll try to see the positive though. In years past they would occasionally do really well in these kinds of tournament, but then disappoint when it came to the IIHF U18 Div. 1a and their fight for promotion. Maybe they can do it the other way round for a change.

Thanks.

Yes, I agree. I saw match SVK vs GER. And I have to say that slovak players were better ( better skills, better skating ...). Germany could lose bigger difference. I know with the some players born in 02˙ quality will be higher.
