His value is way down after his mediocre performance last season. In the flat cap era Georgi has zero trade value today as his salary exceeds the value of a back-up. Best path forward for both the Rangers and Georgi is for Georgi to regain his form from the previous season so he can be viewed as a realistic potential starter. If he plays well he might even be worth a #1 draft pick at the deadline. Also would allow us to see if Shesty can get thru a season with any significant injuries for once..Not sure he deserves the hate he is getting from some - always seemed like a decent team oriented guy. Can't blame him for wanting a path forward for his career. Also, I'm sure he is far from the first person to take a shot, or want to, at ADA who obviously can be quite abrasive. Wish him the best while with the Rangers and at his next stop also.

Cam Talbot played like a starter for months when Hank got injured though. Plus, Hank was in his prime.

A backup to Hank at that time wasn't necessarily going to be a backup on other teams. And Talbot showed that to be the case post-trade.

Talbot’s two years with the Rangers were 2013-14, 2014-15. That first year the Rangers went to the Cup finals and the second year they were a legit contender and when looking at any of our goalies now the team in front of them (which is a non-playoff team) should be kept in mind.

Waive this clown. He’s not worth the cap hit.

Imagine having the audacity to demand a trade…

But then haven’t Lias, Lemieux, Kravtsov and Georgiev in the past 2 years? Inmates running the asylum. Jack Eichel (like him or not) can request a trade. You four? Considering combined you wouldn’t get half of (an injured) Eichel in return? Not so much.

They really should have traded him a couple years ago. I said it at the time. The thing with backup goalies, particularly those playing sparingly behind clear #1 goalies, is they play sparingly and a few bad games can really destroy their numbers. And goalies really need to play to stay in a rhythm, but when you suck like Georgiev why would you get starts? It's like a catch-22.

Anyway, not sure how much value he has.

Imagine this guy was the reason why DeAngelo's NYR career came to an end...and we got stuck with this chump. Just release him and call up anybody. I don't blame DeAngelo for calling it like it is, he probably told him he f***ing sucks.

Honestly, doesn't look like he belongs in the NHL at this point. He's playing that bad. Just cut ties, hard to imagine it'll ever be something worth regretting.
