Can I get a quick breakdown of how these leagues or w.e work? Is the LHL a corresponding league above vhl? Genuinely confused. Or is this a tournament?

KHL** sorry I misspelt it above. The KHL is the NHL equivalent. The VHL is the AHL equivalent. The MHL is their junior League.

Sorry folks. Whole province hockey shut-down today, due to this covid-friggin-people-killer stuff. All MJHL suspended until further notice across whole province. Step-up league WHL never has started yet. These kids'progression and dreams are on hold for sure. No telling what future holds for any of them, of any of us all, anywhere any more?? Hang in there and be smart, safe for yourself and put future goals on-hold. Concentrate on getting through each day safely trying to keep your specific skills and talents as sharp as possible in this bubble-world we have forced upon us all right now.

Seems like that probably happens here soon. Numbers have been insane lately.

Manitoba to the North has now shut-down all MJHL across whole province, not just Winnipeg teams.
Bummer! No junior hockey (legally) allowed anywhere up north now. Be lots of "pond hockey tourneys" for sure this winter.

4 points for potential top 5 pick Kent Johnson in his college hockey debut for Michigan. My early favorite to go #1 in the draft, Owen Power, with a goal and two assists. Matty Beniers, another potential high pick, with 2 goals. Very impressive start. Johnson and Beniers were a combo on the “fourth line”

I have to think the only fair way to do that would be a full-league lottery. Team that picks last is your 2021 Stanley Cup Champions.

The last time an NHL season was missed was 04-05, and they did a league-wide lottery, which decided the entire order. From Wikipedia:
"Teams were weighted based on playoff appearances in the last three completed seasons (2001-02, 02-03 and 03-04), and first overall picks in the last four drafts (2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004). Three lottery balls each were assigned to teams which had not qualified for any of those playoffs and received no first overall picks in that period. Teams which had one playoff appearance or first overall pick in those years were given two lottery balls. All other teams received one lottery ball.[1]"

Sounds like the Wild would get one ball, if it happens again this way.
