on a more serious note though, wasnt some of the dudes posting in khovanovs thread that they dont exactly list the lines in order 1st line on down its just the lineups and doesnt speak for playing time or role?

khl.ru has pretty detailed game reports. Yesterday's game Khovanov played 16:18, 1 sog, no points (except the shootout goal), went 8-1 on faceoffs.

Raty may not even be a top 10 pick when it's all said and done
That puts him on our radar then! I see us picking around 15-20 with a 1st round exit. Hopefully that doesn't stop GMBG from trading pending UFAs for draft picks.

You think he is going to hit a wall and slide, or just think that others will put themselves into higher conversation? I know its a big year for him development wise but I don't feel like he will drop out of the top 10. I know he's not the most liked around here but Pronman just listed him as 1 and the only Elite NHL potential.. I do think we will have a top 10 pick next year, but not sure we will have top lottery odds. Who knows, if we sell at the deadline like we have positioned ourselves to be able to.. we could be biblically bad, but I am not buying that either.

Seems like a perfect year to "win" the lottery when you have 2 chances (we will!) Cause we all know its rigged and our "turn" ;)

Unless we really can’t score goals, I don’t see how we finish bottom 10 this year. Maybe if we absolutely clean-house at the deadline.

He didn't go 8-1 on faceoffs according to the site you posted, appears to be 1 for 8? Consistently getting more game time, which is encouraging. Still pointless, which is not.

Not a big Wheeler fan, myself. I'd pay more attention to some on this board than him.

Random thought of the day:

30+ goals - ecstatic
25-29 - really happy
20-24- meets expectations
15-19 - ok the nhl is tough, he’ll learn
10-14 - uh ohh
Below 9 - kids a bust
How many games are we thinking the season will be? I'm going with half a season. So take your list, cut everything in half and I think I'm pretty much at the same place.

I don't remember if i saw this on HF or Reddit, but I remember someone saying "Can you call him a bust because he is a 5th round draft pick?"

I think Kaprizov is going to pan out, but I do agree that if it doesn't work out it wasn't like we wasted a high draft pick on him.

"Bust" is open to everybody's interpretation. For me, it's all about expectations. 1st round picks and top 10 picks get drafted with high expectations so they immediately qualify. If Kap would've just faded away after the 2015 draft, it wouldn't have been anything of note since he was a 5th round pick. Even making the NHL in any capacity is a bonus. But everything he's done since has raised the expectations, so yeah, if it ends up that he can't translate to the NHL, then there will be some bust factor (at least to me).

I'd be going after early 2021 picks + later 2022 picks for all of Johansson, Foligno and Bonino. Unless Bjugstad really surprises, I doubt he'd be worth anything more than a later pick.

2 1st + 4 2nds + 2 3rds would be the bee's knees.
Whose left for your roster, tho'? 20/21 Iowa roster plus your 4th line? Giving away almost 2 lines of the roster for picks, wow. Almost unheard of accept in Ottawa maybe.
Actually, might be better off playing 1/2 of Iowa youngsters and see how they do?

Or you can sign cheap free agents to fill the voids not to mention we have Boldy and probably khovanov coming into the nhl next season. It’s smart to sell this trade deadline of we can get assets for said players.
