I guess I'm super naive, but I really don't get what's going on here. They both take in millions a year, but feel the need to steal some watches from people who know them... How much time does one typically get for armed robbery? They've potentially ruined their lives for a bunch of stuff they could have bought legitimately 100 times over easily.

But an NHLer says he doesn’t want rainbow tape on his stick and we get lectured about how hockey has a “culture problem” and needs to change NOW!
Let's not pretend that Rainbow Tape is the reason why people say there's a "culture problem".

Yeah, generally crimes make sense, but this is just absolutely insane to me. Honestly, it seems to me that the robbery wasn't about the money and was more about just sticking it to the party-goers.

Either way it's absolutely ludicrous....

I'm playing a Connected Franchise on Madden where Baker is demanding a HUGE contract and term. I guess he's gotta pay these legal fees.........

Tulane player kicked off team after arrest.

from espn.com:

A fight at a Waffle House in Louisiana landed a Tulane football player in jail and a teenage girl in a hospital, police said.

Zachary Police Chief David McDavid told The Advocate that the fight early Monday morning, which led to the arrest of defensive back Tyler Judson, originated from an argument about a conversation on Instagram.

Tulane said in a statement that Judson, who is facing a second-degree battery charge, has been kicked off the team.

"As additional information has now become available concerning his arrest earlier this week, Tulane football student-athlete Tyler Judson has been dismissed from the football program after initially being suspended following his arrest," the athletics department said. "Tulane will continue to hold our student-athletes, coaches and staff to the highest of standards."

Police did not identify the girl, but WWL-TV reported her to be a high school student. Her mother told the news outlet that her daughter has many facial fractures and will likely need surgery around her eye and for a broken nose.

from cbsssports.com:

Former Georgia safety Bacarri Rambo was arrested on a rape charge late Monday evening. According to Clarke County Jail records, Rambo was booked at just after 10 p.m. and is being held without bond on a felony charge.

Police responded to a rape call at 1:17 a.m. Saturday at Georgia Heights Apartments in downtown Athens, Georgia, according to Mark Weiszer of the Athens Banner-Herald. That is where Rambo's apartment is listed; however, the police report states that the "incident occurred at a different location."

The victim in the case is a 21-year-old female. No other details are known at this time.

Rambo was a member of Georgia's support staff for the past two seasons, serving as an intern and, more recently, a defensive graduate assistant. A Georgia athletics spokesman told the Banner-Herald that Rambo was not currently on the staff but may have taken spring semester classes. He was still listed in the team's spring media guide.

EDIT: Found his mugshot.

Cardinals rookie Jeremiah Braswell was arrested yesterday after he drove his car into a Lake Erie while intoxicated. :shakehead

from cbssports.com:

A new member of the Arizona Cardinals found himself in trouble with the law this weekend, as one of their undrafted free agents alleegedly drove his car into Lake Erie while intoxicated. According to WFMJ, former Youngstown State wide receiver Jeremiah Braswell was placed under arrest for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, as a breath test showed that his blood alcohol levels were above the legal limit.

According to a release, Put-in-Bay Police responded to a call around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday about a car that drove into Lake Erie. Police say an orange Camaro was off the embankment and in the water when they arrived, and that no bystanders were injured during the incident. Witnesses also told officers that the driver was still in the car trying to drive it while it was in the water. When officers approached Braswell, he allegedly told officers that he was stuck and did not know what had happened.

Police said that Braswell's speech was slurred and he could not explain how his vehicle had ended up in the water. He then submitted to field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. Braswell played wide receiver for Youngstown State between 2015 and 2019. According to Youngstown State's official website, Braswell recorded 51 receptions for 986 yards and 11 touchdowns in 40 career games. He ended his collegiate career on a positive note, as he caught a career-high 24 passes for 515 yards and seven touchdowns.

A followup to the Braswell story - I found a couple of pictures of the incident from another website and he's lucky nobody was sitting at that table he hit on his way into the Lake.

Dana Stubblefield will be going to jail.

360x0.jpg

from espn.com:

Former San Francisco 49ers player Dana Stubblefield was found guilty of rape by a Santa Clara County jury on Monday following a nine-month trial, and five years after the woman reported the 2015 sexual assault to police.

He could face 15 years to life in prison.

Prosecutors said Stubblefield lured the then-31-year-old woman, who has developmental disabilities, to his home in Morgan Hill, California, on April 9, 2015, under the pretense of a babysitting job.

The jury found Stubblefield, 49, guilty of rape by force, oral copulation by force and false imprisonment, and acquitted him of raping a person incapable of giving consent, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

Jurors also found that Stubblefield used a gun during the assault, prosecutors said.

Washington has released Guice.

from cbssports.com:

New Washington Football Team coach Ron Rivera has been tasked with rebuilding the organization's culture this offseason, and he wasted no time taking another step forward on Friday. Minutes after The Washington Post reported that third-year running back Derrius Guice had been arrested on domestic violence-related charges, including felony strangulation, Washington announced that it has released the former second-round draft pick, parting ways with the ex-LSU standout after just two seasons.

"On Thursday we learned of a potential domestic violence-related incident involving Derrius Guice," the team said in a statement. "We immediately alerted the National Football League and have continued to work with them during this process. We then met with Derrius to inform him that he was excused from all team activity pending a review of this matter ... Upon review of the nature of these charges and following internal discussions, we have decided to release Derrius immediately."

A highly touted prospect coming out of LSU in 2018, the 23-year-old Guice is also facing counts of assault and battery, as well as one count of destruction of property, as a Loudoun County Sheriff's Office spokesman told The Post.
