Not sure he had that much separation with his speed.

Stunned he was not claimed back by Dallas. From what I heard they liked him.

You mean "nothing", right? You are being too kind. Management has done nothing to improve this roster. Nothing!

They did have the off-season to get things done. It's not as if anyone knew this team needed another center or top 6 winger..

Too much money to have him play in the AHL . Its a one-way contract. We don't really have much use for him either.

No point in paying the dude $790,000 (or whatever it is) to play in the AHL when our AHL team can score just fine.

Smith though fast...conditioning looks less than stellar. Also needs to be willing to lose some teeth/willing to go into the corner and win some puck battles. Saw on a few occassions him puck watching on the offensive zone while Wagner/Kuraly battled along the boards/corners

He not really a gritty player. He'll get you something off the rush or steals and thats about it. Its why his minutes in Dallas went to lower than 5 when he was actually dressed. Gemel is an energy player. Think one of our radio hosts nicknamed him the "sugar rush" . He'll get you energy but it'll wear off quickly.

Surprised he cleared. I liked his speed and tenacity.

He'll be a good guy to have as a spare forward down the stretch.

The 4th line in the playoffs last season was pretty crappy, so we may not have seen the last of Smith.

Tanner Pond was loaned to Providence last season by Atlanta Gladiators(ECHL) and has bounced back and forth between the two teams this year.

I didn't like his game at all, was hoping someone else would put in a claim.
