1.29 1 - 0 EQ Belarus 18. UGAROV, Alexey
(21. ZAKHAROV, Konstantin)

looks like we'll see another german disaster. at least it's the last game.

ziffzer in goal for germany, i wonder why they didn't put greiss in since the result of this game isn't that important.

I'm sure Doug Wilson and the rest of the Sharks brass are cursing Hofner. Ziffzer has been better though so i have no problem with it.

2-0 belarus. the iihf.com ticker sucks as always. germany had 2+10, but neither the goalscorer nor the guy who received the penalty are shown.

i could understand that decision if germany would have a chance to win that game, but without scoring a goal you won't win it, so why not give greiss that game so both goalies had around the same amount of ice-time?

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

SCOOOOOOOOOORE

CARCIOLAAAAAAA

moritz muller had the 2+10 for checking from behind. that resulted into the 2nd goal from ugarov, again assisted by zakharov.

and finally a goal from fabio carciola, assisted by blank.

1st period is over. belarus received a tripping penalty, so we have germany with PP the first 2min into the 2nd.

Carciola is the man for Germany. Hospelt and Kink had better leave this tourney with something. They are due for a goal.

i expected carciola to do more, because i think he's the best german out there. he may not have the talent of kink and hospelt, but i think he's the most experienced guy.

and yes, kink and hospelt played a bad tournament, so they should try to get at least a point.

but all three have to play good in the DEL and then nobody will care about the WJC. carciola had a good season when he left for grand forks, so i hope he can continue that way when he's back in mannheim.

25.22 3 - 1 EQ Belarus 21. ZAKHAROV, Konstantin
(28. VOLKAU, Artsiom)
(3. KAREV, Andrei)

32.45 3 - 2 EQ Germany 19. JANZEN, Alexander
(17. KINK, Marcus)

3-2 belarus at the moment. kink with his first point of the tournament.

maybe germany can fight for a tie. they are currently leading in shots which is a major surprise.

Anybody know why Andrei Kastsitsyn isn't on the line-up?

i don't know but maybe he left already to play for hamilton. belarus is already relegated so no need to stay with the team.

3-2 belarus after 2nd. pretty close game. i'm really surprised. and the absence of a.kastsitsyn can't be the only reason. either belarus don't play as good as they can or germany is finally playing a good game.

Zakharov has a goal and two assists in the first two periods. Not too shabby.

Congrats. Not surprised, actually. The germans had something to prove here, whereas Belorus did not. It was about pride, I think.
