Provorov. The money being less gives the Jackets more cap room to play with. I know its only just north of 1% of the cap, but that 1% could be the difference between signing Severson and signing Shattenkirk.

Not even a question, Provorov. Gavrikov is overrated by Jackets fans. Decent player, does the phone call thing, but as a player he's nothing special.

I went in the minority - Gavy (who his team mates liked) plus a 2nd round pick (we gave that pick up for the 35% savings on Provorov) over a guy who showed a lot of regression last season.
Upside is 100% on Provorov, but I think Gavy has a higher floor.

You guys remember these Gavrikov cards with most of his numbers in red, here’s his card in LA

Does Gavi have a NMC or anything?

Signing Gavi and keeping the LA Kings pick and a furure 2nd rounder is preferable.

Gavrikov is better defensively and a better locker room guy. Underrated offensively though

Provorov is better offensively. A better skater. And is fine defensively

Sounds like a push to me. But I think Gavrikov is safer, with Provorov having more upside and a better resume

Not remotely close .. Provorov by a mile … Provorov is more skilled than Werenski .. Werenski if he could stay healthy, his stock would be down as well if he didn’t miss nearly all of last year , and 18 or so games the year prior . Philly is pretty comprable to the defense the BJs have iced past couple years . Gavrikov looked dramatically better in a system with responsible forwards , good structure , and competent defensive partners . I expect Provorov to shine this coming year …

Is anyone a little pissed off that Gary told the CBJ he wanted to test the free agent market, but then re-signed with LA instead of going to free agency?
Not really. I think that's the difference between a team in the playoffs and a team who finished second to last. I also think going to LA (a team on the rise) helped convince him to stay. If he went to Boston (a team who could collapse at any moment) he may not have resigned.

So question, is the result of this poll Provorov's play or the fact that Gavrikov wanted a different contract in the CBJ and left? ;)

Actually the odd part to me is that the story was the issue wasn’t money but term and that Jarmo wanted a shorter deal than Gav preferred. And then Gav‘s camp pushes for a two year deal.
