Maclean looked like a total baffoon in some of his questioning, and ultimately it cost the bozo his job. Why he would ambush the commissioner is quite strange, considering his employer is a partner with the league.

Some of the stuff he asked was considered rumors or made up on here. It’s like he came on the Business section here and found the most outrageous claims and asked Bettman if they were true.

It's not like the Bettman has been honest when teams have struggled - the NHL consistently lied about the Thrashers being in trouble right up until the time they were moved to Winnipeg. Which was around the same time period that Maclean had his clash with Bettman.

What was Bettman supposed to say “yes we are relocating Atlanta to Winnipeg!!” since the deal was not final and the team was still playing in Atlanta?

So Maclean was spreading rumours that were true? You can't have it both ways.

You seem to be of the opinion that journalists should only ask Bettman questions that he likes. Which is kind of the point here. Bettman clearly agrees with you and if a media organization gets out of line he'll give them the cold shoulder.

And yes Maclean was eventually brought back in after a period of "good behaviour". He seems to have gotten the message.
