The Maple Leafs are likely to trade one of these goalies. What teams could be interested, and what type of return could the Leafs see? Pick(s)? Prospect(s)? Roster Player?

McElhinney; (NHL) 10-4-1, 0.935sv%, 2.09 GAA, 3SO [34 years old]
Sparks; (AHL) 25-8-1, 0.936sv%, 1.82 GAA, 5SO [24 years old]
Pickard; (AHL) 19-9-0, 0.924sv%, 2.12 GAA, 1SO (25 years old]

If I'm the Avs, I'd potentially be interested in one of Sparks/Pickard. Not interested enough to give up much for either of them, but interested enough to kick the tires and nod appreciatively while trying to figure out what the real asking price might be.

How about Rantanen for Sparks and a 4th?

Pickard's contract is up at the end of the season and is wavier and arbitration eligible. Toronto probably just lets him walk.

Out on the front line, don't worry I'll be fine...

I'd like to keep Sparks and promote him next season. He's earned the permanent promotion.

Pickard I think could be moved to Ottawa, Buffalo, Chicago or Minnesota.
I'd be fine with a mid-round pick or in the chance more could be had by adding a similarly modest asset, I'd look towards seeing if prospects like Snuggerud or Kaakonen could be had.

McElhinney to the Devils for Ken Appleby? Love what he's done for us, but the days of sentimentality have to be over. Sparks should be promoted and kept barring an offer we can't refuse.

Hopefully we're better at the draft table this year with respect to G prospects. Woll's all we've got. Kaskisuo looks like he could take over the Marlies, but I think Ian Scott might have been a poor choice.

My two cents.

Sparks and Pickard have both been good and young enough to make McBackup expendable.

Even if one of the two falters the other could step up. Expect Mc to get traded in the offseason and I don't expect much in return - 3rd / 4th round pick...
